They helped so much that I, as a total rookie, with just a bit of range practice could go a round of golf and make par on 2 holes. I have since then never replicated that but still. 😅✌🏻

I started golfing in fall of 2021. I'm to the point now where I can par to +2 every whole at my local course. Much of what I've learned is because of Rick's videos. Alot of these other no names making instructional videos make them long and drawn out filled with nothing or very little useful info. Then there's Rick, an actual somebody with experience. Humble, modest, to the point, with loads of useful information, and techniques. I very much admire and appreciate that.

@@theindooroutdoorsman the other day I hit a beautiful sand wedge shot right into the water.
@theindooroutdoorsman2 жыл бұрын
@@noname-md6pw Last round I played, made it to the 9th hole on the same ball. I was 104 yards out from the pin. Been hitting my 56 great all day, but I wanted to use my 50 instead and try to hit the green, and go for a birdie, rather than clearing the 15 yards of water in front of me with my 56 and going for par. So I pulled my gap wedge, took a couple of practice swings, then topped the ball right into the water. Really fell apart after that and finished with a 125, I was on track to break 100 until that damned pond.
@noname-md6pw2 жыл бұрын
@The Indoor Outdoorsman oof man. I've topped the ball into water plenty of times. The course I play at has like 12 holes with water and it's not florida but it's not a great course anyway. I'm starting to get a lot better with my swing tho.
@noname-md6pw2 жыл бұрын
@The Indoor Outdoorsman When I hit that sand wedge shot I told you about, I missed clearing the pond by about 5 feet. 54 was barely not enough. Just needed a bit harder of a hit. Lots of cases where I just need to hit the ball harder.

Well...he is making me realize how much I have wrong with my swing, in one video!!! If you ever want to know how bad your swing is, then set up a tripod and shoot a high speed of a swing from straight ahead of you (camera facing you perpendicular to your shot direction) and compare it to Rick's same view. You'll regret it immediately!!! His swing is near perfect, while we look we are trying to push a rope uphill!

Hi Rick can you please help when I swing back I can feel my left hand lose the grip so with the follow through I end up hitting the ball with face open causing a huge slice. This even happens with the glove on. I though it was the grips on my clubs but they in good condition and I even experience experience this with a rental.

Rick has reminded me of the important details and made it fun at the same time. I have definitely made faster progress, with less frustration by reviewing Rick's video and then practicing the advice on the range. I have tried to have a practice after each video watched while the information is fresh. Really appreciate the down to earth attitude and fun personality Rich has in the videos.. There is a fourth one that nearly every golfer does. I have studied this for years looking for that one thing and I found it. Its the feet. Sit in an office chair that swivels, put your feet flat on the floor in front of you and use your legs to slowly make the golf swing motion, back swing turn and swing through. Notice how you feel it in your feet. you are using your legs to push against the ground and turn your body. The golf swing should feel the same. You should feel it in your shoes. Don't use your upper body to turn your hips and shoulders. Use your legs to create a feeling that you're trying to turn the planet with your feet.. I've heard different people talk about using your legs and staying connected to the ground in the past but they never seemed able to explain it properly so I hope this comes across as intended. I'm just an ordinary Joe trying to find a swing again after back surgery and this has transformed me overnight. Using your legs and feet automatically keeps you centered, keeps you on plane and maintains your balance to the follow through. You obviously need to release properly, etc but you'll feel a difference immediately. Rick, I love watching your videos, you're awesome.

Hi, watched this video when it was released. It was interesting as it described an issue that I was experiencing, in particular 'swaying'. I currently play of 6 and have had a reasonably major spinal surgery. I was putting my poor form of late down to this. This morning, before playing a round I decided to hitting a few balls on the range and videoing it to see what I was doing. Well, to cut a long story short I was swaying a lot and over swinging. I decided to take your advice and concentrated on trying to keep my body central, slow my swing (to stop the over swing) This helped a great deal insomuch as it was the first time that I actually played to my handicap and felt like a single figure handicapper. Thank you for this well needed rethink of my swing.

Working on these fundamentals lately has helped me get back to playing better. Noticed recently in a video of myself my stance was to upright so my shoulder plane was too flat so I changed my posture. Also I fight a flat take away to the top. So now I take the club back straighter and up instead of "back". Back means swinging around the body which is a horrible concept. It also helps I do not allow my right arm to hinge inward.
