A thought - if its not already too late - when you bury the cable from the solar shed to the cabin, bury two. That way, all you will have to do when you upsize the plant is to hook it up. Going up at least one wire size will also help as you will get less loss. Easy to do initially, less easy later to retrofit.

Even the old man you spoke with…you could see with his books and maps that he came from a different time. Old world. I love the old world. I love simplicity and I am going back to this way of life. Simple living. I love the sound of nature and quietness as you worked with your little shed. And to feel the warmth of the sun as you took a nap on the grassy hill. I could imagine myself there. Your restorative build sounds adventurous and healthy. Thanks for the footage of the area and you two buildings, and the visit to the art guy, . Some people that live off grid like yourself complain about the cold, due to living in cabins that are not insulated, we in Canada say “ it’s not the cold weather it’s the wrong clothes” thermal underwear , wooly hats, real cashmere sweaters and good goose jackets with hoods, strong gloves and heavy insulated boots should solve all that, invest in all these and you should be fine.

absolutely incredible seeing the history of the area there, with the stone workers, and learning the name of your little home. i am jealous of the history there, because the US has so little actual history by comparison. our natives left very little to be discovered, so our hard history didnt really even start until the 1600s, several thousand years behind the solid history that was being built all over europe and the isles.

So you were also featured by Kirsten for her project. How nice. Nicer still to meet Daniele, with his treasure trove of information relevant to your home and area's history, including maps and photos with important details. How interesting that you three men in particular ended up being neighbors there (and able to communicate easily), in which the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. I recall that you setup the battery box to be able to disconnect the batteries for your absence. Will you be insulating the interior walls of the battery box and wrapping the batteries for winter, so they don't freeze? That's an issue we have had. Bright blessings.
