Sounds great.Thanks for replying Trip. I would not mind showing you around. I have a huge house on the golf couse. Near me I have the Edisto River, Ashley River, Four Holes Swamp. These places are great for finding fossil sharks teeth, many other types of fossils. Lots a good fishing. Some of the revolutionary war and civil war took place on this rivers. It can be real fun when you come up on a nice rope swing someone left up. Good camping and some state parks off the rivers. We have some beautiful old plantations you can stop at. Two local rivers go through the oldest, old growth cypres forest try still untouched. Lots of fun. Anyhow, the offer is there to Get out there.

Note to self: No river trips right after tropical system, haha. Had to look it up: The Chipola River at US-90 on June 1/2/3 averaged 10.5ft high and was *discharging 1400 cu.ft./sec of water!* The high discharge is what makes it murky (river height markers are kind of misleading). On your Chipola trip in November the discharge was only 250 ft3/s at a height of 5.5ft. Quite an experience, though. I am impressed how well the river handles the rain!
@TripSmith6 жыл бұрын
Haha! Yea.... This one was already kinda set in stone so it was going to be tough to cancel it. It really wasn't to bad like I was thinking it was going to be. We still had a blast but it would have been more enjoyable at 5.5'....

Hey dude, love the vids. A great vid editing protip - for every edit, you want to hear the clip, before you see the clip. To everyone reading this that went on the 18.1 trip: I've said this before, but its hard to find these alternate videos, unless viewers are aware of your channels. Some of the smaller channels get passed up. For instance, I didn't not know about Tallapoosa Angler (geez, I hope I spelled that right!) being on the 17.2 trip until he mentioned it in a reply last year. (Check out his channel BTW!) So post your channel links here, so everyone will know where the alternate videos are and where you find them! Trip, if you are reading this, maybe you should post any other videos in the links from now on? My only hope is that they give you proper credit and ad a link to your channel here, so everyone will benefit from it!

Is your wife at home taking care of your 2 boys while you are on all of these multi-day adventures? Not much fun for her ...
@TripSmith6 жыл бұрын
Some of the time, yes she is. Most of my adventures (except subscriber trips) are during the week so that it's easier on her and I don't miss time with her or the boys when they are in school and she is at work. If I am going to be gone on a weekend, which is rare, we try to line up a grandparent or someone to help out. They enjoy taking care of my oldest since I kinda like to have him home with me so they don't get the opportunity a bunch.

Wanted to like it because the Chipola is home. But I have to dislike because you are part of the problem on the river. There's no public camping in Calhoun County, where you camped your last leg of the trip. And being a landowner on the river and frequently having to deal with trespassers (mostly touristy kayakers), you're a nuisance. It's not the locals who trespass, it's people like you. Tourists on their kayaks and floats who have no respect for laws and property owners. Posted land or unposted, if it's not state land or you have permission, stay off it.
@TripSmith6 жыл бұрын
You're right, I didn't have permission that second night. I am always very careful and respectful to any land I set foot on, private or public. Can't argue with you.
@elenaleahey91216 жыл бұрын
Trip Smith then you're not always anything. You can't carefully and respectfully trespass.

Elena get over yourself. I own a home on the gulf but I do not believe I should chase off all people enjoying my beach. If they were being obnoxious I would handle it or get the authorities. Maybe you should look at yourself in a mirror and see if you like who you see.
