I was raised in sandstone country and lived much of my life within and also exploring Scotty. Being 74 + yrs now I doubt I will ever get back to exploring other than through the eyes of someone like you so I thank you. But I would love to have an idea as to closer to where this is please.
@davecharles7551Ай бұрын
Awesome video as always. I recommend that to clean the camp spot, especially in a cave, that you break a branch and wipe the area with the leaves, then throw it on your fire to keep the mozzies away. You'll scare any nasties hiding in the sand away. That's what we were taught to do when camping out bush. It's worked for us for thousands of years. I hope your new addition to your family is doing well.
@LittleSimGoesWildАй бұрын
I love that you cared more about the animals than yourself and tried to move more out of their way! Love your work Scotty🙌
@TheBeardedBushrangerАй бұрын
Really loved the history at the start and talking about how the early accounts often talk about the bush being like a garden. Those paintings of the indigenous mob doing burns were great. Also that's the first time I've seen a shot of a wedgie watching a goanna taking a dump 😆
@tinamcdougall4506Ай бұрын
I absolutely love this video, the goanna, and wedgie part my favourite 😍 closely competing with the piglets swimming across the river and Scotty's obvious enjoyment of the entire camp. Thanks for sharing Scotty's, made my day 🎉

Scotty, I grew up in bush like this, with the sandy crystal clear creeks and sandy caves, in NSW. I’m older now, this was delightful to watch. Brought back so many memories. Thank you ❤

Awsome video mate, could you do a behind the scenes video of how you find places like this, get access planing the trip?
@kennethsilvestri5874Ай бұрын
You took a beating with the biting ant and cactus on this trip! Carrying a leatherman comes in so handy out in the wilderness. Adds a little weight but the pliers with cutters are invaluable and comes with a decent knife for a backup. That tool has saved me more than any other item i.e. fixing broken zippers on tents, packs, sleeping bags, unscrewing cap for superglue to fix hole in inflatable kayak.

Such a unique environment. Never seen that kind of jungle with a lot of caves and shallow river with grass like that before. Good video!
@Ace40000Ай бұрын
Great video! I camped at the same place for a few days about a month ago and did a walk about half way down the creek adjoining the main river. I explored as many caves as I could and took photos of all the rock formations and beautiful scenery, just amazing and so green. We may have even been there on the same weekend, I parked next to an overnighter's 4wd on the ridge back at the property for my day walk. Like yourself i hope to go back there soon and make it all the way to the main river and explore more caves, what an stunning place!
@unidentified8275Ай бұрын
How do you do this and not get lost? And how does one find these places? This type of camping looks really cool.
I wish Brisbane had places as nice, open, and grassy as this. All we have is dense bush land in our mountains 😭

Scottie, thank you for showing us some of the beauty Australia. I hope you can keep it a secret. I know you know, the trouble with piglets is their mom. A long time ago, in a land far far away, I had some run around me, down a dry creek bed, on their way to the main creek. Their mom was huge, walked up to me, growled at me, then walked away. Does everything there want to stick, sting and bite? Had a cactus stick me and festered for days…aggravating. Thank you…from an old vet, retired in the US, hills of east Tennessee.

That cactus you stepped on looks like a tiger pear and yes they are very sharp and painful. They seem to have a small barb on point with makes them hard and painful to remove. The barb often breaks off and stays with you for a long time as a reminder.
