3 DAYS in KAMIKOCHI: climbing mt. Chogatake//上高地から蝶ヶ岳

Kamikochi is a valley in Nagano prefecture and the gateway to a lot of the surrounding mountains. We decided to climb mt. Chogatake which is a beginner level mountain with amazing views of the other mountains in the Northern Alps.
今回は上高地から蝶ヶ岳に挑戦しました！蝶ヶ岳からは北アルプス（西穂高、奥穂高岳　など）の景色が素晴らしかったからオススメです！

Very nice hike in the Japanese Alps. Nice views from the top. Just a small safety note: be sure to cook in your covered vestibule, not inside the tent as there is not enough ventilation even with doors and windows down.

First of all, thank you for such another beautiful video. I was so excited when I opened my computer this morning and saw that there was a new one. They bring me such joy! You have a wonderful aesthetic and it seems just perfectly edited--I cannot begin to imagine how much time, patience and energy goes into each one. It must be fun re-living the experience though! This looked like an amazing trip. The baby monkey was so cute and watching the helicopter drop off supplies was cool. I have to be honest though, I think some of my favorite shots were the ones from the ground level of walking through the grass with the little white flowers and the other ground-level shot. It's so unexpected, and because you have a high quality camera, it looks amazing. You guys make me want to get out more into nature and see all the sunrises!! :) Takeru, are you still doing the app that keeps track of which mountains you've visited? Maaike, I don't think I could handle a non-western type of toilet after that much work, LOL! You're amazing! Thanks again!!

確かに、高山での水の確保は大変です。私は南アルプスで、ボウフラが湧いている水溜まりから水を確保したことがあります。

日本の山は、「森林限界(2500〜2700 m)」を登りきる事に力が削がれる。ヨーロッパ Alps とは事情が異なります。日本の山では普通の登山ルートでは、ロープワークは必要ありませんが、穂高山塊は、岩が刃物のように硬く鋭角であるため、登山靴がズタズタになります。日本の山にチャレンジしようと思う外国人はいるかなと思いますが、まず、一度・夏道を地元「山岳ガイド」と共に歩き、山小屋の施設やテント泊の手続きや施設・食事・トイレ・テントは緊急事態時の山小屋避難など色んな日本特有な事情もありますので、「山岳ガイド」さんと同行して「夏道」歩くことが大切だと思います。ただ、夏では「雷雲」が発生することがありますので、「山小屋」の発表する気象情報には注意してくださいね。

Milchmann2 If you start hiking at 5 am it would be possible to climb it in one day (starting from Kamikouchi bus terminal) if you are a fast climber, but I think the majority stays for the night.

Please help for a few question - in this video when and is it possible to hike in winter? If not when is the last month for hike - how much is it for campsite up there on Chogatake? If I take a tent and 2 persons - how much is it for campsite down there nearby the river?
