I do love how you went about this. It’s not another tutorial vid but a vid of someone we love to watch, watching himself do a semi dangerous ‘what if i was stranded’. Also love how you went about things like, “I don’t want to do more damage than i have to for a video”, so thoughtful and non-destructive. Can’t wait for the other 2 videos!!!

I didnt tell my missus till the day before i was heading down Sussex Inlet for the Flatty classic for the weekend... yeah, i was packed ready to go, and that night she dipped all my reels in roundup and petrol, I pulled them out the bucket in morning when my old mate was picking me up, with him thinking its the funnyest fucking thing he ever seen...They get a bit fussy ay.. i was just busy and forgot to say.... i didnt catch a cold eaither as i remember.

Maybe one day i can try with a group of people but i still gotta learn ocean fishing and ocean diving. Not gonna lie im kinda scared of going under water in the ocean so ill prob stick to fishing. It’s been so amazing watching your channel evolve. Don’t get me wrong, I love your earlier content just as much, but it was very simple. Basically just showing the catch clean cook with a bit of camping. Not that cinematic, but very entertaining. The intro alone of this video is a masterpiece, let alone the rest of the video. It really shows how much you have grown as a content creator, what you have learned, and just how much time you put into these videos. Brilliant work brother, never stop being amazing.

Force multipliers are a game changer in survival. So if he'd used the cord he found, or the fishing line, he could have made the bow drill and it would have taken much less energy.

I'm glad you show people that you do bring emergency provisions despite the context of the video. Nobody should take on a challenge like this without being safe and having backup plans in place in case you get stranded or sick or severely dehydrated.

A tip for prickly pear if anyone is interested is to collect some long grass and make a good sized bundle with it, then wrap the fruit with the grass by sort of looping the grass around it and rub the grass back and forth (kind of in a "drying my back with a towel movement" lol), this should remove most of the small fuzzy thorns and is also a good way of safely picking the fruit

Funny. As a kid in the 1970s we always called them thongs, and then it was on to thong bikinis and undies and it changed to flip flops. Guess thong means "the thing that goes between the big toes to hold the thing on your feet." Guess thong means the thing that goes between the cheeks to hold the thing on the body". Or just the thingy part of the thong.

I live in the Desert where we have endless prickly pear fruit growing everywhere you look, burning the outside is the easiest way to get rid of the tiny finger killing thorns. Once you have the thorns off, you can just roll your knife under the skin like you're filleting the skin off a fish and enjoy the fantastic flesh. But your way looked fine too ;)

The hand line was a great thing to bring if for no other reason than it will give you something productive to do when you start feeling bored. GL with that hand drill man. I have tried several times just for kicks and every time after 15 minutes my hands are done. It's easy to turn the kit into a bow drill after that.... Cheers man. Love the series so far.

That prickly pear is yum even better cold. Next time. Rub them in the sand to get the prickly bits off. Then bury them in a bag in the wet sad to cool them a bit. Better eaten cool. Can give you an upset tummy if you eat to many warm ones. Yes thy are yum. 😁👍🤙

Cactus fruit are the best! Here in New Mexico, USA we turn them into jam and make a dye out of the color. The flavor is hard to describe to someone who hasn't had it. I think of it as a plum and mango mixed. Awesome video 🤙

Love this new video idea. Prickly pear can make you constipated if you eat to much. As you stomach can not digest the pips. But love what you doing.
