You ever tried liquid in the drip pan?

Just wondering....typically, how long does it take your grill to get up to temperature after putting in the lit coals, adding the deflector and drip pan etc? Also, when holding a temperature like 240, where do you have your bottom vent set? Would love to see some videos on getting desired grill temperatures...

im deciding on getting the summit kamado but my question is. is the igniter very useful and get alot of lights from it or do i just get the summit with out the igniter and use fire starters(weber fire starters)more for your bucks where im trying to get? i know it migh be more convient with the igniter though. sorry for the rant but its a hard choice and few hundred bucks different

In all honesty 90% of the time the way I’m setting up my charcoal for long cooks or smoking the propane assist is not being used. For fast grilling I’ll use it to light my charcoal but that’s about it. Don’t get me wrong you could always use it to get your charcoal started in the chimney then move it off to somewhere else to fully light it and set your charcoal up for your cook while that’s burning. Hope this helps you to decide which one works best for you
