I have done Uber Eats and Doordash for about 4 years now and I can tell you some of the stories from delivering out of Cleveland, OH. Everything from shady customers to someone trying to steal my car. Crazy stuff always happens doing these jobs.

They aren’t going to follow the prints endlessly through town, especially since the driver most likely walked around the house then got in his car to left. They aren’t even going to track the guy’s number. That is a waste of “resources”. Instead they say what they always do, “if he bothers you again, get a restraining order.”

Things like this are why I put explicit instructions on delivery apps to just leave the food at the door and ring the bell. These drivers have enough to worry about as it is. If I can help them spend the least amount of time possible exposed in an unfamiliar area, I do. And I'm glad to see that these drivers often have a second person in the car with them. Fortunately, my apartment building is built like a hotel or dorm. Long, straight hallway, and there is a bright exterior light next to each apartment door out in the hall.

Not a horror story but my wierdest DoorDash delivery was an order where person, named "Dr. D", had 2 whole gallon of sweet tea on his order, when I get to the delivery address there were like 4 more orders on the stairs from hours or maybe days before, I left the food and gallons there and immediately left. Felt like calling the police as I got a bad feeling about it but could not find address after I left. Felt like he was ordering food for victims he had in the house. Regret not being able to report this.

Doordash was for people who were unemployed. It’s unfortunate that ppl have to take advantage of these things and ruin it for everyone else. (I work at fast food and doordashers always come in. Recently my manager told us people are eating the food and stealing and we need to seal up the food better) Thank you selfish people who don’t want actual jobs and take advantage.
