Great lesson! Thanks Frank. Love the humour - it makes the learning more memorable. Your voice is really versatile too. Tuned in to the live YT show last night - new years eve and enjoyed that too. Happy New Year from the UK 2025!

First time i played in public down the pub...was in the late 90s ...landlady heard i was taking lessons and knew a few songs....was a quiet saturday afternoon ....she asked me to go and get my guitar, was proper nervous but thought why not... . I knew about 5 Elvis songs....couple of beatles , dance the night away by the mavericks and oh yeah....Wonderwall.....every time someone new came in the pub...it was 'play Wonderwall ' .I must have played it 10 to 15 times that night...and everyone joined in each time, was so popular back then.....ive not played it since ...😂

Great video! Thanks for putting this out here. Ever play around with John Mayer’s take on Free Fallin’? I think it’s pretty great too.

Great inspiration, as usual. Still watching, but felt like sharing a wee tweak on how to spice up Horse with No Name to keep it from becoming a boring 2-chord song, since the bass obviously does different things in the refrain than in the verses: Verse as you show, but try using an Em7 and then an F#m11 in the refrain. (Em7 like a one-finger Em plus pinky added on the 3rd fret of the B string. F#m11 - admittedly not an easy chord for beginners not used to thumbing a bass note - with the thumb on F#, the third finger and pinky both on fret 4 of the A and D strings, respectively, and the first finger on fret 2 of the G string, with both treble strings ringing and open). That spices things up considerably, setting the refrain apart from the verses sort of like in the original. Actually, this idea came to me only after watching your version and feeling inspired to mess around with it. ;-) Oh, and as a further - and in this case easy - pseudo-bass embellishment of the verses, occasionally toss in a an „empty“ low E string plus F# hammer-on the 2nd chord of the verse, just before heading back to the Em. Lots of fun! :-)

thanks i needed this. I can play alot of songs but have trouble singing wt the same tone as the song itself since i have a lower voice than most of the artists
@FrankPersico7 ай бұрын
Explore your tone and your natural voice that’s my advice and what I do as well. Then you can change the key of the song to work best for you. It’s a lot of fun and very fulfilling. I wish you the best. Perhaps in the future I will do a video on the subject
