Thank you Frank, I greatly appreciate your advice. It was all very helpful indeed! You mentioned about pressing on the string too hard…..I remember the first time I noticed that. I had been just playing acoustic guitars for an extended amount of time and had not picked up an electric in a while. When I played an electric, it seemed that I could not get the electric to stay in tune. Then as I was getting frustrated because of it not staying in tune, I realized I was pressing on the strings harder that I naturally would, which was making the strings go sharp! I noticed that it is much more pronounced an an electric guitar than on an acoustic. So once I realized the problem, I simply calmed down, relaxed, and everything was in tune. Great tip! Great video as always! 😎👍🎸

Glad that you caught it. It can be bad on electric and on acoustic. But usually on acoustic there is way more tension to begin with so you would really have to be squeezing hard compared to the electric where it requires way less on the left hand. Or it could be the setup of the individual guitar itself … thanks for the comment

For live gigs dude, would you recommend changing your string every gig or every 2-3 gigs?
@FrankPersico Жыл бұрын
I usually change after 3 to 4 gigs max. The exception is if I’m playing outdoors in the summer than usually after 2 gigs.

@@FrankPersico Cheers Frank, I noticed the other week I was outside busking on a really hot day and I broke 4 different strings from a new set in a 4 hour session, do you think the heat had something to do with it? I usually only break one or max you see?

@@MrCheswickMusic I actually had noticed the same thing. When I play outdoors in heat and sweat a lot I break more strings. I haven’t broke a string in years but the last time I did it was on an outdoor gig in heat and I broke 2 strings that day. I myself wondered if that was the cause and your post all these years later actually confirms it! Lol

@@FrankPersico That's what I thought, cos I've NEVER broke 4 strings in one session in my life, as I say, usually I'll break none, but occasionally one, and very VERY rarely I might bust 2 Cheers dude anyway, new sub from the UK, love your content & honest thoughts
