Great to see you highlighting Cognac! Just yesterday I was having the conversation that it was the most underrated spirit
@BartenderAtLarge2 жыл бұрын
It works so well in cocktails, it is a damn shame that it is not showcased more in modern cocktails. Let's change that!
@SaroShow2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! I only drink cognac as neat spirit.

Another awesome video - would love to see you work with the sister/brother of cognac for a couple cocktails - Armagnac

"Y'all probably can't see mee right now because of this sweet, sweet camo shirt I'm wearing. If you are interested in any of the awesome shirts I wear in these videos, head on over to Ericksawesomeshirts and get your own shirt on!" Sidecar coming right up! Gonna try to make it a habit of making one of these drinks each week. I really love how it enhances watching the episode sipping the same stuff you make!

You just gave us a good idea. We should probably auction the shirts off for a charity eventually, right???!

Always thought it was yellow Chartreuse since that's what we used a bar I worked at. Had no idea it was green!
@BartenderAtLarge2 жыл бұрын
It works with Yellow Chartreuse too! But since it is sweeter, we would probably kick up the Cognac to a full 2oz ;-)

Do you have a link where to purchase that long measuring spoon? Looks like a perfect tool for a bartender.
are there any reposado CLASSICS? i seem to always kinda do riffs on whisky/blanco teq classics, but couldnt find anything.

Not yet, but this sounds like a killer idea for a future episode ;-)

Would you mind giving me your opinion on the spice grater you use in these videos? I need a new grater/zester because we always use our regular microplane for dinner and I'm wondering if I should get another regular zester or go for this more specified spice grater/rasp. What do you think?
@BartenderAtLarge2 жыл бұрын
We use this and it is a beast. Its perfect for dry spices, but not for zesting fruit. Only 10 bucks too. www.williams-sonoma.com/products/microplane-mini-rasp-grater/?sku=1138373&cm_ven=PLA&cm_ite=1138373_14932288920&cm_cat=Google&cm_pla=Local&gclid=Cj0KCQiAmeKQBhDvARIsAHJ7mF4tJr1280h7ri-bYJEVj9pk0epvlBpnyKHEFeaVwm3VXlCvM822Y2saAmrLEALw_wcB

Just a simple question. Can one use Cognac as a substitute when mixing Bailey's Irish Cream? I'm not really a fan of whiskey.

I hadn't heard of the Champ Elysee before. Neat But Eric. Why ya gotta rag on American brandy? Sacred bonded from heaven hill is the shit. I'd put quality American brandy up against the overrated big 4 cognac producers any day. Speaking as a neutral Canadian of course
@HungryHungryDude2 жыл бұрын
American brandy is great! But by and large the spirits being distilled on the American frontier back in the 1700s days would be a little rough around the edges by today's standards. That just isn't for brandy either but for whiskey as well. It is only compounded by the fact that you never really knew what you were getting when you were buying from rectifiers. Unless you made it yourself, you never really knew what you were really getting. But all that aside, I I love me some tasty brandy made here in the USA. In fact, you gave me an idea. I might just have to make an episode featuring stateside brandy soon ;-)
@kurt98942 жыл бұрын
@@HungryHungryDude ahh I see what you mean. I hear 1700s cognac was already pretty good Yea thatd be a great video! American brandy and even world brandy I think is the most exciting spirits category. So much good wine out there that could be good booze
