This is the #1 reason I left California last year after living there for 48 years. I got sick and tired of dealing with the fires when I lived in Northern California. I lived in the middle of two major fires. When I moved to the town of Cool, California there was a major fire the day I moved in and another fire the following year!!! 😢😢😢 I don't know how people can continue to live like this, because year after year more and more fires continue to burn out of control all over California!😢😢

we packed them into our cars, sold our furniture, and DROVE across country. we left most of our "things" but the pets travelled with us. They are much happier in a damper, cooler climate. You can't wait until the last moment to make that decision. Once the fire is at your door....you are out of options. AT VERY LEAST DON'T LOCK THEM IN YOUR HOUSE. So many abandoned pets at local shelters after a fire....💔💔 Our dogs and chickens are doing very well now. And there are always thrift stores and flea markets to replace your "things." Think about your "babies" ahead of time.

People in these communities that have multiple animals need to pack up and leave even earlier so they all survive. It is not smart to keep waiting until last minute. Get out early. I used to live in Big Bear Lake for 3 years and went through a fire evaluation and other weather conditions. Too unpredictable and dangerous. I moved back to Orange County. Never again would I live up in a mountain community.

we moved a year ago. (to rural VA) It is horrifying. My heart breaks for people still there. It was a combination of things including cost of living.....but the fires were on the list. It's getting worse every year. Those are some beautiful communities. 💔💔 The fire hadn't reached them.....yet. As much as I loved things about California, the houses are frequently built on cliffs, in deserts, in places...unsustainable. The lack of water is REAL. the ground keep shifting and moving in some of those places. we have to consider more than "oh, look, it would be pretty right there...." Build AwAY from cliffs and ravines. The 'lovely view" isn't worth the ground instability.

As I sit here smelling the smoke, it occurred to me that the video's title, "3 fires torch 4 Southern California counties," is grammatically incorrect. A wildfire can't "torch" something because a torch is a human tool. Also, a torch is defined as a tool for light, not fire, like a flashlight. Then I thought I should probably leave.

I remember when I first realized there were mountains within 15 miles of my house. I'd never seen them because of the constant smog. Those "weird ideas" cleaned all that up, but you want to poke fun at people loosing their homes. For those denying climate change, I point to less and less frequent rains and more fire danger every year. The truth is the "weird ideas" are very likely to make things better but there are those who would rather key your car than try to make a world where everyone has a chance to have nice things... Based on your logic, you should be careful when you go outside. Getting hit by lightning is a real possibliity for you. Actually read that bible some time. It's full of great advice about loving and caring for your neighbor and praying for those you discgree with. I've never found where it says people should be killed for trying to be better to people and the environment.

Fire updates on news from state authorities need to be updated 24/7 in all US regions especially in So Cal. on live video news feeds. Period. Laws will be updated by new legislation.
