Thank you, Shawn! Thomas' tip on prepping the most difficult part ahead of time was GREAT. For ME it is the salad/veggies, so now I prep a large chopped salad with as many ingredients as possible, including my seed mix and always prep a homemade salsa with cucumber and again, as many near zero calorie ingredients as possible. Then, I can always fry up some hamburger, cut up some turkey or open a can of tuna for protein.

does insulin stay high while the liver works on alcohol and fructose as the natural priorities? Or does it just keep storing so that there is no glucose left when the liver is freed up? Gr8 trio and edit.
@TheShawnModel19 күн бұрын
Thank you! And thank you for the insightful question. As you know, alcohol and fructose take different paths into the cells and don’t “need” the same activity of insulin. One simple thing to keep in mind is that neither alcohol nor fructose typically come packaged alone. There will very, very likely be other carbs/sugars coming along with them and create a metabolic soup of things to clean up that will require insulin to engage and stick around and supervise. So, yes, insulin will have to stick around while those other things are processed. Plus, there are other ways even pure fructose sneakily influences insulin. Again, it may not impact insulin release initially upon consumption, but there are a whole host of ways fructose and alcohol can impact insulin down the line of metabolism. One of the most studied is their impact on insulin resistance that will tend to keep circulating levels of insulin higher in general! Again, great question and hopefully that was helpful!

Thank you for the info. I'm so So frustrated. I do all these things and can't lose weight. I eat well, focusing on whole foods with protein and fat. Drink lots of water. Strength training five days a week. Rebound everyday. Fast 15-20 hours per day most days. I also do a 5-day fast twice a year. I also have hypothyroidism and Hashimoto's thyroiditis. I started Armour thyroid months ago and still no weight loss. I actually gained a half inch on my waste and hips :( I'm definitely gaining muscle but also not losing fat. What else can I do? I do not want to take GLP-1s.

Hey there! Thank you for sharing your experience and please know that you are heard! I know things can be frustrating, especially when you know you’re doing so much right. And I think the best path to finding out what works is knowing the difference between “what’s right” and what’s right for YOU. You are unique and the most valuable feedback you can get is from your own body and mind. It will tell you whether or not something is working for you better than any expert or elaborate program. If your body is fighting to hang on to fat/weight it’s doing it for a reason. And you have to slow down and investigate… ESPECIALLY when you think you’re doing so many different things that are supposed to be good for you. There are a couple of things that immediately jump out from the details you’ve shared here. 1) Why are you fasting 15-20 hours a day most days. That puts up a red flag as extreme, especially for women and hormone balance that’s far more sensitive to stress, in particular where you are with your cycle (both monthly and chronologically i.e. where you are in the timeline of perimenopause/menopause, etc). This will be helpful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZSVeohvfah1fdksi=2T6LWWfasl0aXmno Also, with such a chronically small eating window, it’s highly, HIGHLY unlikely you’re even getting in enough protein to build the very hormones that help regulate body weight and metabolism. Another thing to consider is learning from experts who specialize in Hashimoto’s but also resonate with your lifestyle approach. They’ll likely note that stress is very likely contributing heavily to your body’s resistance to weight loss. And, rather than fighting your body with diets and exercise, you need to focus on sending your body safety signals. This might just be the most helpful things for you: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKDPqZZ3ntd8ptUsi=VphhGZdD6guAj2mT

For the walkers out there, do you burn more fat while walking in the cool of the day vs the warmer time of day? Or is there no difference between the two?
