Fury won 4,5 and 6, maybe the 12th but how anyone had him winning that fight is baffling. Landing a jab and a couple pissy body shots here and there in the opening rounds was never winning those rounds. Usyk took away his best weapons so good, the body shots, the jab and the uppercut stopped landing at a point because Usyk made such smart adjustments. Truly the superior boxer in all aspects to every HW today.

Referee blocking usyk twice and had to be pushed away is beyond unprofessional, Usyk fought against referee, commentators, judges and Fury still got 8-4. Also they on the spot renewed an ancient rule to justify saving of Fury. The standing eight count was instituted in 1982 after the death of boxer Kim Duk-koo. The Association of Boxing Commissions later eliminated the standing eight count in 1998 and it is usually not invoked in professional bouts today.
@julianmills9326 ай бұрын
I don’t think it was a standing 8 count. Fury was slumped against the ropes, would have been on the floor otherwise, and I think the referee gave him a standard 10 count. Otherwise points valid. Most refs would have waved it off half way through his staggering around the ropes. Ref wanted to save him for sure. Fair play to this powers of recovery though. He was gone

I give Usyk rd's: 1,2,8,9,10,11 AND 12. RD 3 was pretty even but just so the Fury fans don't get their panties in a twist any more than they already have ... i'll give that 3rd rd to Fury. So many saying rd 12 went to Fury. Not even close honestly. I've watched the 12th rd FOUR times now and Usyk lands WAY more shots than Fury... fury lands 2 jabs and 2 semi hard R hands. That's it. Usyk landed far more and some really good shots at that. Rd 11 was pretty lack luster and i could see how someone might give that to Fury. Even if you give Fury one of the rds i gave Usyk.... Usyk still wins because of the 10-8 rd 9. Even if you're a judge and think it's even, the ring generalship of Usyk, backing up the much larger man the vast majority of the fight and hurting him like Usyk did in Rd 9 should tip the scales in Usyk's favor. It's a clear cut win for Usyk if we're being honest. But again... you have to be HONEST with yourself.

Fury seemed to be very unsure and nervous leading up to and starting the fight, I think he has been very clever with who he chooses to fight and probably would have carried on avoiding Usyk if not for the massive money on offer. I think at best fury may have got 4 rounds, and a lot of his shots were either flick the jab out like he was measuring distance rather than proper shots, a lot of the better shots were taken on Usyk gloves. He seems to do this a lot, more selective point scoring attempts than shots with venom in them. Well done Usyk, a true fighting man who has taken on everyone despite their risk to him.

A natural cruiser weight has fought 36 rounds with the best and biggest 2 heavyweights and has won at least 27 of those rounds whilst taking their best shots and almost stopping the pair of them and that’s a fact. look at the size of Usyk I’m sorry but it was a master class as Fury was considered the best of this era and possibly one of the all time greats. Fury won four rounds by the stats so master class is correct. Usyk’s one of the GOATS and deserves full credit for his achievements. 27:30 Fury COULDNT clinch because Usyks too good at wriggling out of the clinch , his technique in that situation is as good as his technique when on the offensive ; he's an absolute master at everything.

Frank must’ve been sat behind Ritchie Woodhall with a P45 in hand ready to sack him if he talked badly about his golden boy.

Happy new year. Love the built in excuse of Jon Fury in the corner.

Joking aside Tyson made a terrible mistake having his father there during fight week & in the corner. John Fury is an accident waiting to happen, he's a jealous attention seeking prick desperate for relevancy. The biggest fight of his son's life & he's behaving like that.

Is it any coincidence that when Usyk beat both AJ and Fury, post fight they both talked garbled nonsense. Usyk affects minds lads!
@unbabunga2296 ай бұрын
It’s not that Usyk gives away earlier rounds, it’s that he uses them to figure out the opponents weaknesses and patterns. Fury wasn’t guarding his right side, and his footwork would end up crossing his feet, standing straight on or ending up southpaw. And it was those things that led to the 9th round KO

The fact that anyone thinks fury won round 1, 2 or 3 is crazy. Fury won 4567 and maybe 12 but the way *certain* people (fanboys) try to claim fury won all the rounds until round 9 is madness. These people must be either blind or fanboys smh. The clearest score is 7-5 to Usyk plus a knock down. It could arguably be wider imo.

There are many people with greater credentials than you who had it 2-2 after 4 rounds so take your head out of your.......

@@chrisangelo8960 great credentials? I think you mean bias. Welcome to boxing, most of the big names (particuarly brits/ Americans which I say as a Brit) have an agenda 😉

12 is big stretch. “One guy looked more desperate, lets give him the round” Usyk simply landed more.

@@Elnont don't misquote me, I stated "greater credentials than you". Would that assertion be right or wrong? You clearly have your own biased outlook 😉

@@gintuner4371 agree I’d also give the 12th to Usyk but in terms of looking at in the eyes of the most rounds fury could feesibly have lol

Compubox stats for punches landed might back up your judging, but that's not the whole story. There's 4 judging criteria, punches, effective aggression, defense, ring generalship... Total punches thrown vs landed highlights who had more effective aggression and defense. Usyk having the ring generalship, controlling the pace of the fight, controlling the place in the ring (center/ropes/corner) and position (back to ropes/back to center) of the fighters. Plus having the defense to prevent most punches landing, also aggression that creates the ring generalship, all contribute to the overall judgement of the round.

I also had Fury winning round 7, but it was a swing round which could've gone either way. Rounds 1, 3, 7 and 9 were swing rounds. I gave Usyk rounds 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10 and 11. I gave Fury rounds 4, 5, 6, 7 and 12. With a 10-8 round in round 9 I had Usyk winning 115-112.

This was Usyk's plan, come out and win a few rounds to set a base, then let Fury burn himself out for a few rounds, and then easily take the second half of the fight. Genius.
@johnmichaelson91736 ай бұрын
I couldn't agree more, his boxing IQ is genius level. Although I have to say there were moments when he had me concerned. Fury caught him with a hellacious uppercut similar to the one that finished Dillian Whyte with & it definitely shook Usyk but he rallied & kept on going. The man's on another level, Joshua & now Fury, ffs Wow!!

True Geordie must have a different “Compubox” his one says: Rounds 1-3 Usyk, Rounds 4-7 Fury, 8 - 12 to Usyk = 8 x 4 Usyk. I thought Usyk had round 7 too but, I’m factoring in Usyk being relentless despite the flack he took in 4-7, he controlled the whole fight. It would have been a TKO if the ref hadn’t been Fury’s bodyguard. Richie Woodhall is an idiot.
@superbadiii48566 ай бұрын
Usyk controled the pace and dictated the direction fury moved around the ring. Off balance crossing his legs limiting the shots he could load up. Made him work when he didn’t want to. Pressed him to not get his groove. Continued to stay in his face and made him make mistakes. Fury didn’t know what day it was. Happy New Year.

It should also be noted that he will be stripped of undisputed because of not fighting his mandatories. Which is also pretty disgusting that they would strip him of the undisputed title so quickly. But somehow allow Alvarez to keep his titles while avoiding his mandatories
