The YKK zippers are the best. I used to see that almost all zippers have that trade mark when I was a kid. The clothes would be worn out after years of use, but the zippers would continue to work perfectly. Nowadays, most zippers are no longer from YKK, replaced by some cheap imitation brands and those damn things always break first while the clothes are still fairly new.

The YKK zips are arguably the best quality zips you can get. They tend to be a bit stiff and slow when their brand new but as you use them more frequently, they get smoother and quicker, very good quality.

Yes they are but the plastic ones used on boats for the covers are really bad after a few years on the sun and the salt water, they tend to stop a lot and become less smooth

I owned and operated and used to work for a big garments manufacturing business. And based on experience with different brand of zippers, YKK is found in almost any garments that uses zippers, simply because they are the best there is. You can even ask them to stamp in your brand. So even if you don't see YKK, it is still YKK made zipper. So we only use YKK in all the brands we manufacture.

Many major brands will use them, as they’re considered to be quite reliable… if you don’t see them, it doesn’t mean the clothing you bought is bad, but you might need to change the zipper at some point in time… my dad has some old adidas jackets from the 80’s he recently gifted me, and they have the YKK zippers, they work as if they were new.
