This is an excellent interview that answered so many questions for me. I’ve been working on brain retraining but was stressing myself out trying to do “all the techniques” plus still seeing a natural doctor who does muscle testing who keeps telling me things are wrong with different organs but it changes week to week which I believe he’s picking up on where the brain is sending signals as opposed to something actually being wrong and then putting me on a ton of supplements. I’ve been seeing him for 5 months and I find myself feeling worse and worse because he keeps telling my brain something is wrong. I suspected this is what was happening but this video just confirmed it for me. I’ve been trying to be my typical perfectionist self with recovery and just stressing myself out more. It’s time to just find joy, self love & compassion and re-engage with my life instead of isolating. Thank you! ❤

I can appreciate that therapies like Pacing one's energy and emotional output can be helpful. Positivity and honesty in communication all sound good. However, for some people it needs to be acknowledged that the physiological issues are often equally important, otherwise diet, paced exercise, supplements would not help, and they do for many people. The doctor mentioned the micro blood-clots, mitochondrial issues etc. All the bio labs experimenting with these pathogens need to be frequently audited with full transparency! Let's acknowledge those facts too!
@rebeccatolinmind-bodycoach6 ай бұрын
@jackjones3657 Thanks for your comment! I agree that different people need different modalities in order to recover. Paced exercise/graded exposure is a very important piece of this mind-body model. Although I think it's healthy long-term to eat an organic, whole foods diet, there's no evidence I've seen that diet is a cause of Long Covid. On a personal note, I took hundreds of supplements at great expense over 13 years and they didn't help me recover from ME/CFS. But if they help you or someone else, that's terrific! We all find and share the way that works for us.

@rebeccatolinmind-bodycoach5 ай бұрын
@amyknox7387 I'm glad you found me! While I haven't specifically heard of that symptom, may people recover from skin discoloration and rash when it's a sign of nervous system dysregulation. @rebeccatolinmind-bodycoach7 ай бұрын
@josie-gr1yl Thanks Josie! Ehlers Danlos does not limit progress! I've had clients and students who recovered from Long Covid, even with EDS. thanks for this great talk! I struggle a bit with dealing appropriately with the physical abnormalities. I sometimes get weak, heavy legs. If I think of it as a danger signal blocking my legs which are actually fine and full of energy, I'm kind of okay with it. But if I role in the possibility of damaged mitochondria, meaning that there actually is something wrong with my body and I do not have "enough energy", it totally scares me and holds me back because I'm afraid of "overdoing". Also, how does this apply then for people with book cures who can expand super fast. Do the mitochondria regenerate that fast? Any tip on wrapping my head around it would be highly appreciated!
@rebeccatolinmind-bodycoach7 ай бұрын
@acissej_01 You're so welcome! I understand the challenge of dealing with physical symptoms. But with mind-body symptoms, physical damage is not causing the symptoms. The brain and nervous system create symptoms when they "perceive" danger. So it's important to focus on the things that give you a sense of safety and hope, not ideals that scare your brain! I had to stop subscribing to theories about mitochondria, viruses and other issues in order to recover. If the mitochrondria were the root cause, people would not have a book cure as you so astutely suggest! You might enjoy this blog and video on my healing story.
