Does the abs sensor need to come off?

I was in the middle of a rear brake job when I noticed my driver's side wheel hub sounds rough when I spin it. I'm going to go ahead and replace it now, when all the brake shoes and springs are out of the way.

Is it ok to use a $40 hub vs a $150 hub. Is there really a difference in the 2 price points?
