LOVE that!! One of the most well-designed I've ever seen. Going on three years full time in a truck camper, one thing I never anticipated was not having a mirror. That camper is fabulous but the mirrored fridge was GENIUS... I've gone out with a dress on inside-out more than once. 😆😆

Yes. It helped a lot. I was blinded by the skylight over the bed, and #1 and #2 looked like exact repeats. I need some sleep; trying to cram in a lot of information. I finally figured out that the largest might fit my 6'3" tall grandson, his wife, and their baby when he is born in February, especially the shower. However, I didn't realize that they are $60,000. WOW. And while it is nice, if you want to walk you will have to go outside. It looks a little claustrophobic, but I love the size of the refrigerator/freezer, especially the pantry slide-out. I would take a wet bath to have that!
@bookbakery2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for showing these to us. We can only go to some states looking at campers. My grandson is working on the truck. We have the Highlander, but not interested in spending money on hotels, and we have severe allergies, so we need and prefer to cook our own food. (DH and I)

I have a 10-2 EXCD which I got in 2015. These are quality built truck campers. I am out boondocking camping in the Rocky Mountains 5-7 months each year. I take it over mountain passes, deserts of Utah, all kinds of national forests and through and over just about everything. It has taken a beating and nothing has broken...except light covers and vent covers which are my fault as I raked some trees. It is super comfortable and two people can live it it for extended months no problem. Yes, they are expensive but they come with a 6 year warranty unlike anything Thor makes which won't hold up a year. I run mine in a SRW F350 and it hauls it with no problem on the highway or off road. I have had it in 20 degree temps and the heater works great. This camper is great for those who are serious about camping and want quality. Also, they hold their value. As a matter of fact I can sell mine used for more than I paid for it. But I'm not getting rid of it...come May I will be back in the Rocky Mountains. Any questions I will be glad to answer for those serious about getting one of these from someone who has owned it.

@flyingdutchman75854 ай бұрын
@@jonathan6035 I pulled out the Ford 6.4 diesel and put in a 6.7 Cummins. It is a beast of a truck now. In the rear I added Torque Lite “stable loads”. These attach to the rear leaf springs and firm them up and also pretty much eliminate any sway on the highway. I also added airbags, but more to level out the truck so my headlights are pointed down the road and not skyward.

Hi Mike, I am so glad you and Susan are around to give the rest of us so much useful info about all things RV. You two certainly have your own unique style whereby your efforts to keep your presentations fresh are appreciated; not the easiest thing to do. There are way too many vloggers on KZbin today who have become hackneyed and patronizing to their viewers. Their condescension such that they believe they are a gift to RVers, complete with sarcasm and insults to viewers' intelligence. I have unsubscribed to more than one vlog for just these reasons; let alone their shabby research and outright incorrect or misleading information. Too many times in their laziness, they substitute superficial opinion for fact. I have communicated my displeasure to a couple of them. Fortunately, this is very far from your likeable on camera persona, polished delivery and slick production. Your collective hard work is apparent in each show you release. Please keep up the good work. Thanks.

Think of it this way, every RV has a purpose or niche market. If you like getting away from people a 4x4 truck can go places, trails, fire roads that you can’t get many trailers or others down. If you’re looking for weekend trips, have a pickup, these can be put on and taken off as easy as you might un-hitch a trailer. Are they expensive for their size? YES. But as they say location location location.

If I were to buy a hard side camper northern lite would probably be the one but I like the room that slide outs offer. I currently have a 2008 Lance 992 with double slide outs we traded it on a 2022 Lance 1172 it also has 2 slide outs but has a love seat in the rear slide so you can stretch out and not have to sit at the dinette table. @@bigdogbulldog9912how is it price gouging. No one forces you to buy it. It's not like it is something you must have to survive. They are built for a certain market that can afford them. They are not built out of scrap 2x2 and staples like a Jayco, host , and most other truck campers. Fully loaded you will need a 450 or a 550 to haul it. We sat ours on the bed of a 2021 f-350 and it dropped all the way to the bump stops. With the proper truck to carry the 10-2 model you will spent about $160,000.00 to $180,000.00 for a truck and the camper.

As someone who has a 2023 10-2 dry bath i can say that there are more than enough windows in it. I just wish they would stand behind their warranty. They have a taillight warranty. Any time you contact them about a warranty utem they tell you that you have to go to the components manufacturer. I purchased mine in August of 2023 we got to use it one night and the solar power system went out and several of the plumbing parts started leaking in the black and grey water system. It is now November 1 and it is still in the shop waiting on Northern Lite to repair it. You would think for $ 80,000.00 it would last more than 1 day.

Hi Amy, all of our campers have the same layout with the main differences being the type of dinette.. face-to-face or u-shape. The other layout option is dry bath or wet bath. The reason we only run with one core floor plan is that through our +30 years of building 4-season campers, we have found this layout is the best use of space in a truck camper. As we don't build campers with slides, we are limited to floor plan options.

This was nicely done. I like these campers but for the life of my can no figure out why they keep putting carpeting in them and not some hardwood flooring. Carpet is trashed in a season or two. Who buys a camper that they have to take their shoes off every time they get in? Who wants to have to put in a plastic floor runner? Does Northern LIte not get that "camping" is basically a dirty activity? I am also not a fan of "wet baths". Why they continue to put little tiny sinks in the bathrooms in these things makes no sense. 48" away you have a kitchen sink. I do NOT want or need a second sink. Take the sink out and just have the Toilet and Shower. These are not houses - these are campers. Everything I look at these I am more Grateful for my older Lance. I am not suggesting the Lance is better over all... it has it's drawbacks. But flooring is not one of them. And the "L" shape Kitchen with a drop down counter addition make it so much better to use. I even have a 4 burner stove and a double stainless steel sink and a REAL Range hood. Lance just hit it out of the Park with the "L" design for people that want a more functional kitchnen. I can also reach everything from one spot in the kitchen including the refrigerator. The problem with Lance now is you have to have a 1 Ton Dual wheel to carry the weight of the new Campers over 10'. And I see little point in a slide for the kind of camping I do (Just one more place to fail and leak). The splash guard is much higher. You can sleep across instead of front to back. Finally no one ever does a review while the AC is running :). Thanks this really was well done. In my view Lance, Northern Lite, and Bigfoot are all Top End. But new campers are insanely priced (But what isn't). I will be fixing mine over and over until it completely falls apart in a wreck or hailstorm. PS: It would be great to talk a bit about the outside features, holding tanks, where they waste hose is placed, the maintenance required on the fiberglass, is it safe to walk on the roof. I also noted the large window is an escape hatch which maybe makes sense but not as much as a roof escape above the bed.
@RVBlogger7 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing your thoughts since you actually own a truck camper. Sounds like you like the features your Lance offers and you brought up some really great points for others to consider too. There is always a big debate about having a bathroom sink or not. I would say overall it's about 50/50. Glad you liked our tour and the way we shot it!!! Mike
