Some people are taking huge offense at my attempt at humor. I also forgot to mention it does get disease after the first flush for me but the 3 reasons I highlighted here are enough for me to try something else. We all have our own preferences...

Did you really trash it? I would’ve gifted it to someone unless it’s sickly.

I ended up banishing it to the outside of my 'garden of Eden' so to speak where it has no protection from deer. So maybe it still has a chance. 🙃

I added 3 this autumn (was supposed to be just one but they had problems so D. Austin sent more. They're supposed to be quite fragrant and I love their flower shape so we'll see. The form of the bush I'd wait a few years to be sure.

I think David Austin has great customer service. Roses can behave differently in different locations and times. I just wanted to try something different. It is a pretty rose though. I hope they do well for you and suit your hopes! Happy growing 🌹

Ridiculous reasons.

White only look good mixed with other red roses. I’m trying to get an Eden climber too. 😊

Red Eden is nice. I guess it's all a matter of personal preference.

@@FumblingwithFlowers Where would you recommend to buy the Eden Pierre De Ronsard?
@FumblingwithFlowers8 ай бұрын
@@yume816 It is a popular rose so if you have decent local nurseries, that's the best option. You can ask your local shop when they stock roses and maybe even make the request so that they'll include it in their spring stock. For my area it is usually around May. Sometimes big box stores like Home Depot will have them even earlier in 'body bags' which will be smaller and might require a little more TLC. If you can't find it locally, you can order a small starter plant online at High Country Roses or check other online rose sellers for either bare root like David Austin or potted later in the season. Prices vary so shop around. Local is best for this popular rose.

I know it’s off topic, but I love your retaining wall. I’d love to beautify my retaining walls to look nice like yours.😍
@FumblingwithFlowers8 ай бұрын
Maybe it looks nice from far away but it is easy to fall apart, weak, and very expensive to fix 😲and hard to find someone to do it around here. We only fixed one side because it was so expensive. I think I might prefer longer lasting fake? stuff after my experience with it, lol.

@@FumblingwithFlowers Oh no! Sorry you've been dealing with that. When I moved into my house in 2013, we knew our retaining wall would need replacement, and it was concrete block painted white. We finally replaced it a few years ago, and it's simply concrete block. Holding up so far, and I think we had it done in early 2020 if I recall. But it's not the prettiest. I've been trying to grow Virginia Creeper on it, but it's taking a long time to really latch on and fill up the wall. Retaining walls are very tricky and expensive, for sure. Thanks for letting me know that you've had those issues with yours. It's good info to have for the future.
