It does not stall your progress… you progressively overload those same exercises to get bigger and stronger…

Finally someone said it....Infact if you keep changing the workout, it becomes difficult to track the progress

Progressively overloading the same movements week over week certainly does work for a period of time.

You could rotate three-four variations of the lifts over the course of months. Kind of conjugate style. High bar, SSB, low bar, front squat on a 5/3/1 rotation. Log press, push press, strict press, kb press. Shit I may do this now.

@@marcusfillythat’s why usually you stick to a program for like 6-8 weeks. Then modify the program with variant of different type of training. Let say hypertrophy for 6, then explosion/power for 6. Then strength. Etc. My opinion anyway and it works for me

Bro splits are the ONLY way to build a bodybuilder physique. Yes it’s boring and requires a huge amount of discipline/sacrifice but that’s what bodybuilding is. If it was an easy/fun thing to do-every guy would be jacked and sub 10% BF

Ironically I just went back to Bro splits after years of Powerlifting, some.O lifting and years of CrossFit (though stopped CrossFit many years ago...2012 actually). Though I am doing the Mike Mentzer method so definitely not boring

I understand what you mean😅 but as an athlete, I do gym not for getting not bored, I do it to get stronger and faster in the most efficient way. I do calesthetics and plyometrics for balance and health

I just go to F45 four times a week. For $150 a month I don't have to think about my workouts

How is it any different to doing PPL? You can still keep things interesting and help break plateaus by varying the lifts. Dumbell press instead of bench press Bulgarians instead of low bar squats High volume vs low volume Strength vs cardio vs explosive power Etc etc. Same routine but with variation

I totally agree that you can keep it interesting by changing lifts slightly. It's all about finding what works for you. Personally, I like using consistent progressive overload, but also including finisher and accessory movements that are different weekly to keep myself engaged.
