ThatBlueS3 so you probably paid about $50k and with your trade, you sold at about 66% original value. The average car after three years sells at 58% of original value. You could have probably sold higher than a mass market dealer, but despite that you did well. And Audi’s also have higher reliability compared to VW despite being part of the same company which is why you get “more for your money”.

Here is my take on this one. I bought a brand new 2018 A5 Sportback with that in mind. I didn't buy that car to keep it for couple of years. I got it because I knew I would hold on to it for at least 5-7 years. I love that car and I know everything about that car, I never beat on it when the engine oil is cold or in very cold temps or drive it hard and then just turn it off, I let it cool down. I treat it like it's mine, which it is. Not the same can be said about 3 year old car that came off a lease. People treat those cars like shit, because they know in 3 years they will give them back. My car never seen a carwash, it's all done by hand by me. Idk, maybe I'm just a bit crazy. Love my cars haha

Downgrading from S3 to GLI so you get pay off your other debts is very good financial decision and one you’ll never regret. Even if you were to downgrade to a $10k car like I did. I’d make that decision all day long, BTW, you’re right about depreciation on Audi, I’ve picked up an 2010 A3 for $10k cdn last year. It had 160,000 kms but I checked the CARFAX and it was a one owner car. Which means the owner drove it every day without sitting in repair shop. Normally, a troubled car will get flipped over several times as owners just want to get rid of their problems. So after some years, hopefully get paid more, you’ll find the mortgage is smaller than what it was years ago, you’ll decide to get back into an Audi, I’d recommend a good used one and do your homework. Good luck Also I checked out Canadian Black Book on a 2020 S3 with say 10,000kms. Value is $37k while MRSP is $59k same trim. When you lease out an new S3 for say $700 per month. The first $20,000 lease payments is just profit. It’s no reason, they smile when you hand the keys back at the end of the 36 month lease.

I always buy used - i bought a 3-year old Audi S3 (25K miles, still under warranty) for 45% less than what it sold when it was new. 3 years old is the sweet spot, more than that you might need to consider buying an extended warranty (especially for BMWs).

Great video, thx for posting. Really well done. I was looking to get an Audi off a lease. Then i realized the GLI is a cheaper version of an A3/S3. The money that you save could tune this up to something impressive. So a slightly used GLI with a manual is a no brainer to me. Gotta have some money sitting around for repairs lol. I would never ever buy a new car unless i factor in the depreciation or was willing to release that money into the universe. Makes more sense to me to get a GLI and mod it. That is if you drive aggressive or go to the track if u can find one. But then you might get stuck in the track car money pit and suddenly you have an expensive hobby. Hopefully u didn't get the co vidd shot but most people did. I've been one of those "crazy" conspiracy guys since 1999 when i was in the Army and came across a late night AM radio show with Art Bell. Well time will show that we were right. Many more people are going to get sudden heart complications. You are in worse shape if u got boosters obviously. You can detox somewhat but not sure how far the detox protocol is. I know of some options. I don't understand how so many people listen to and rely on the tv news for information. They are mega conglomerates with all sorts of nefarious agendas that do not ever benefit humanity. The exact same with trusting big farmaa. Before co vidd we all knew Merk and other companies were shady. But throw in a scary "virus" and suddenly they are our savior with a vacs that was magically created in record time smh. It will all be revealed THIS YEAR and will go one of two ways. We win or humanity loses. PERIOD. Ok i'm triggered now lol. Nothing is more important right now. We are going to lose family and friends from this. That is guaranteed. Athletes are dropping on live tv. Media blows it off. Old relatives die so its blamed on their age. This is a literal spiritual war. We are not up against flesh and blood but principalities of pure evil. It is Biblical. The truth does not match up with what we've been told our whole lives. We've been entertained by cartoons as kids. Netflix has slipped in a plethora of evil distractions. Dumb tv shows keep our minds contained. KZbin instagram, facebook all there to keep us superficial and focused on the physical world. It's too much to explain in a random comment. Its a form of journaling i suppose. Hope you are doing well :) Sad that the truth sounds like a schizophrenic rant. That isn't a coincidence.

I bought a 2016 a3 quattro one owner never crashed and with 30k miles for around 17k from manheim and it runs like a dime (I’m from Costa Rica so in the end the government fd me pretty good with taxes, which are around 51% of the car’s value plus other random tariffs) I will continue to do this for the rest of my life, its a steal to buy a three year old audi, hopefully next time with an rs5😂😂 good vid man

I am looking for a genuine spring exclusively for gli, but it is difficult to know the item number of genuine parts because the 2016 vw jetta gli model is not imported to our country. I asked the service center and they said if i check the overseas gli's VIN, they can check the item number of springs, so I need the VIN of the 2015-2016 vw jetta mk6 facelift gli model.. If you don't mind, can I ask you to check the your gli's VIN? Don't worry, I won't use it for anything other than checking the item number. plz, i'm in desperate need of item number of springs..

There are a few vehicles I would NOT lease. Audi is not one of them. Outside of Honda or Toyota, and maybe one or two others, if you are going to buy a new car every few years and you don’t have access to say Manheim Auto Auctions directly to buy a slightly used vehicle, you are getting killed from dealer buys and trade ins. Cars are discretionary purchases. Most brands depreciate at 50% after 3 or so years unless you can buy below market (wholesale), or are a rental car company buying 150,000 cars a year (OEM volume kick backs). Very little difference between your Audi S3 and any other consumer goods such as MacBooks,
@TheCenterLineAuto4 жыл бұрын
Well said. I’m wondering if this whole shut down of the economy from coronavirus is going to change the whole dealer network and how cars are marked up by middlemen.
@billm476454 жыл бұрын
ThatBlueS3 I agree. This could be a “great reset” for a lot of businesses. VW / Audi leases are not that great. I had two GTI leases, one GLI and over that time went from a Ford Escape for my other vehicle to three Mazda CX-5 leases. The Mazda was by far the best. I could trade those in a year early. Now someone would say I am foolish for doing that, but the way I look at it is that if I kept to the end, they would need tires, brakes, etc. and someone would take full benefit from that. $1,000 easy. When I went to go lease a Golf R as my 4th VW, they wanted so much money for it that I leased a $60,000 BMW 340xi for $50 less a month than the Golf R and only $50 more than the GTI Autobahn. Every time I bring it for service they have loaner cars (including a X4 M Competition loaner), and I’ve eaten about $50 worth of snacks at the BMW dealer. While I don’t nearly like the vehicle as much, all my layman friends think I’m making a fortune and I’ve noticed clients even treat me slightly differently when I pull up to their business. People are stupid. The car manufacturers know that! ...and BTW, all my leases are no money down but first month payment, 15k miles a year, and all taxes rolled in. If you want a new car, this is the price you pay. Leasing may have a little more “fees” built in, but your biggest scam artist is the dealers used car department.
@TheCenterLineAuto4 жыл бұрын
Wow that’s crazy that you could get into a BMW lease for less than a Golf R. That’s just crazy to me. That’s exactly what it is manufacturers are pushing leases a lot more because they know they make more money off of them. Basically they are shaping the demand in the market to think that leases are the better value for the customer.
@billm476454 жыл бұрын
ThatBlueS3 I look at leasing as paying a slight premium for a definitive end and no or limited maintenance. BMW subsidizes it’s leases and has one of the best captive finance arms of all the OEMs now. If you buy a BMW new, - meaning cash or loan, you probably aren’t that savvy. THE BIGGEST RIP OFF IN THE CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE IS THE TRADE IN!!! You need to eliminate that part of the equation, it’s a variable that is the least controllable. Case in point, our last Mazda was rear ended. It is worth $1500 less now or more because it was in an accident. It’s a lease. They will still take it back.
@TheCenterLineAuto4 жыл бұрын
You won’t get hit with additional wear and tear charges on that Mazda?
@assordante22054 жыл бұрын
Haven't seen the end of the video yet. I'm guessing the last reason is that he much prefers to be in the friend zone as opposed to having sex. That's the reason for the trade in. Calling it now. Edit, I'm not watching this whole thing. Holy shit, the guy is droning on about depreciation STILL. Definitely likes not having sex.
