I think you should start with *short* casual or even to some extent very unnecessary things - like study/work related stuff. If you do that a few times (without sounding interested or anything) He'd muster up courage to talk to you just as casually. You can slowly turn it up then. If he's interested, he'll follow your lead 😊 I'm also a Shy guy and it has happened to me once. That's how I know 😉 And unless he's a person with bad friends, you don't need to worry about looking desperate. You can just say, "We're all just Social Animals" 😁 All The Best to all of you 😊

This is true. My partner and I are both quiet and considerate so neither of us wanted to do anything to make either feel uncomfortable. We worked together but I left, hoping he would pursue me. He was going to ask me out and, as it turns out, we’re a couple now. A Christmas miracle happened for us. Our coming together is simply miraculous and unexpected in our mutual attraction to who each other is. He’s gentle, loving and committed. A true, traditional gentleman.

I have a question. How do males and females bond with each other? I don't see how men and women can bond (especially romantically) with each other. Men and women think very differently from each other. It seems like it's impossible for men and women to emotionally connect with each other. Women do emotionally connect with other women, better than men do. Women can build incredible friendships and become very close to each other in a way men can't bond, and science shows that women can bond very well with each other. Generally, women are even more social than men are. After something bad happens, a woman quickly rushes to talk to all of her female friends to get support, whereas a man can isolate himself and grief alone.

I notice this with my son. He shows me he cares when he remembers things I have said and then does it. He doesn't hug me or tell me caring things, but he does listen well. Thank you for this! This is my fiance almost to a T. It really caught my attention because he didn't say all of these flowery things and was so reserved. I struggled with this at first, but have come to appreciate this about him. It distinguishes him from any other man I've been in a relationship with. My love languages are quality time and words of encouragement. He may not talk all the time, but when he does, he knows me well enough to say just what I need to hear even if it's not what I want to hear at that moment. And shocker...he has a clever sense of humor. You wouldn't expect it with him being so quiet, but he can say something and leave me speechless or have me busting out laughing. All the points Mark said makes sense. If a quiet guy pursues a woman, the woman might empower and strengthen his verbal shortcomings. However, I will add that if he pursues a woman quietly and slowly builds trust with the woman, eventually he can be a little bit more expressive and will be able to talk way later because again, he trusts her. It's the same thing if you're praying to Christ just sit still and wait for an answer. It can even happen when you think about it like you can think for example "God can I date this guy" Then you feel the presence of the Holy Spirit that is confirming that you can. Or you can ask yes or no and see which one you feel the presence.

My call to do the will of the Lord is top priority. My desire for a future companion will be fulfilled in which she will have the same desire to do the will of the Lord as I do. There's another kind of quiet guy that actually will become quite expressive, once they're ready to open up. They're quite deep, which is why they seem so reserved in large social settings where conversations tend to be surface and mundane: things they have little interest in. But if they find you interesting and once they feel comfortable and trust you, they become quite expressive snd even talkative and value deep emptional connection. Things at least women in the past tended to value. So not only will they be able to have the deep sincere passionate and emotional connections with their woman, they aren't players. They are very choosy about who they ooen up to, making the woman feel more valued and exclusive. The challenge for the woman is finding those hidden diamonds as they aren't the showboats.

This sums me up pretty well. I noticed I'll attract girls when they see me talking about things I'm passionate about, like traveling, learning languages, where I want to live, and what I want to do in the future. Then they'll approach me like you'd do to an expressive guy but I still need them to be inviting like you'd invite a quiet guy; so their pushy aggressive flirting makes me pull back and get cold as I feel emotionally disconnected and it results in me avoiding the girl. This was when I wasn't saved, but now that I'm saved, I haven't really gotten out of my bubble of two church friends, so I haven't interacted much with Godly women ever. Still only have worldy women at work interested in me.

I’m currently dating a quiet guy. He is unlike any other man I’ve dated, as I’m used to more charismatic, outgoing men. Most western women, including Christian women seem to assume quiet men are boring, creepy, no excitement, sometimes lacking confidence, and easily put them in the friend zone because at least they are good listeners to their troubles. This video helped me see a guy in my church differently and it encouraged me to message him in a joking way about he wasn’t great at messaging so he would know that I would like him to try and respond from time to time, and to my surprise he messaged back quite quickly agreeing and we had a good laugh about it. As a quiet guy myself, everything you said was spot on. What women need to understand is that number 3 is the biggest point. Me personally, every time I would say something to a woman, I would always come across as too strong or they wouldn't feel the same and would end up walking away. Every experience like that makes me wait longer and unsure if I should say something for fear I would get the same result. If you have a quiet man around you that is doing these things and you have feelings for him, give him a nudge. Offer to study together. Suggest getting lunch together. If you don't mind being blunt about it, tell him you enjoy spending time with him. We do NOT pick up on signs or signals very well, so the more obvious you make it, the better.

I have a quiet guy. He’s contemplative and an internal processor but he’s amazing and sees things from a different angle because he sees a lot. He’s the kindest, sweetest man and loves me and my kids so well. It’s grown my patience and communication and he’s stretched himself by talking and texting more and we make the most of our time together. At first he seemed like a petrified rock 😂 but I was patient and created a safe place of calmness and consistency and after a year, He is my very best friend and we adore eachother. Even though we know we want to be together forever He is pacing our relationship more slowly which sometimes I admit is agonizing lol but I also am growing to appreciate it because we are taking in each moment and building a strong foundation. We have been dating for a year and a month. I think the 2 main components have been honest communication (in a respectful, safe kind way) and allowing eachother to grow in their own time and way (and periodically check in and see if your approach is ok any cultivating). I am patiently waiting for an engagement ring 😅. But for now I am enjoying the process and making memories.❤

@Maylee Spann I am not the person with the story, but I will say that I do.have something interesting to share. I've been celibate since my ex long ago(was married to an abusive/unfaithful man and he left country and I was single mother). I didn't date until my daughter was 18. I had pursuers but said yes to dating 3 people finally. each time I learned more about myself and what I needed, what I wanted, what God wanted for me. first one was online and we never actually met so I don't really count that anymore. 2nd one pursued me out of blue. we had met 3 years earlier/he was son of a mentor and had helped my friend the day in which we met. I was so clueless that when he called me up for lunch I thought he was just being nice because he asked for his mom's card table back. I told him it was okay, that I could just leave table out for him and we didn't need to go to lunch. haha well, then he told me it was mostly just an excuse and he revealed his true intentions. I am very talkative-- adhd, outgoing etc. all my life I have tried to be more quiet and still bc I respect that. my daughter is that way; when she speaks, it carries weight. 1st and 2nd men talked big and made lot of promises but didn't follow through. 3rd guy more quiet but actions spoke little louder, lead some, but still felt like I was leading spiritually--& i didnt feel comfortable with that. then there was a gentleman who was still and quieter than any of them-- we never dated and I don't even know his name, but it showed me how I could be still and quiet ( opposite of my dominating tendencies),& he seemed to rise to the challenge. my adhd thoughts slowed down and I felt God's presence so strong with him. I did not feel bad when I had to quit job suddenly, as I felt if from God, he would find me again( but I am not waiting on it)-- right now there is another person in my life who is more quiet,& I find myself able to be still and silent again,& he comes near me to help me with my work or just hovers or lingers nearby--& it feels wonderful to not try to fill space or try make something happen. he surprises me all the time little by little in his interactions with others and with me. will see. I am open to whatever, however and whomever God wills, but I just look back and can see how kind of is like goldilocks and three bears how maybe ones before just weren't right fit for me, but that even if this one isn't for me, i know that God cares--& I can see how it would glorify God also dating this man

A man will be up front. He’ll listen to what you like and make a plan. You like theater? He has tickets and offers you supper before the show. You like music? How about a concert together? Spanish Dancing? He just happened to hear about a new salsa hangout but he needs a guide to show him some moves. Or asks if you know any Zumba gyms nearby. Pickle ball? He’s thinking of joining the local club. Got any tips to impress them? Guys, man up. You got this. She might love you and just not know it yet. Give her the chance to get to know your inner provider and protector. Not because you want a gold digger - but because real life, a family, a partner, has costs: rent, lights, food, the vacations she’ll want to take with you so you can both blow off steam or destress. And to pretend those aren’t important or don’t exist is naive at best, if not immature. There are realities. If you might want her to bear your children someday, show her you’re capable, willing, and eager to take the responsibility of providing so she can help raise them for at least 5 years until they start school. Each one. Do the math. If you have 2-3+ kids a couple years apart, she might be out of work for almost a decade - but that’s to invest in the best for your family, and you’re worth it. You find a partner who’s so worth that you don’t want to imagine a life without her guiding it. Men will make a plan and make their intentions known: to get you in their future at least for a date to get to know you better. He’ll be polite but straightforward. If you see a man returning to your circle a few times, you might be his target of affection. Give him a signal if you want to know more. Smile, open up. Ask about him. Find ways to relate with him. Touch his arm or shoulder and see how he reacts. Does it comfort him? Fill him with pride? Do you see him puff up? Throw him a bone, Lady. The best guys aren’t always obnoxiously “out there”. Take that as a good thing.

I ran across this video and it brought to mind some painful memories for me that I thought I had healed from. I dated a quiet man, and you described him precisely. There were many things I didn't understand that I wish I had not taken for granted. I felt insecure because I talk a lot, but he told me, "I like to listen." Long story short, there were some major insecurities he had, combined with the fact that I still had some growing to do, that led him to end the relationship, run away from God, and make a lot of really unhealthy and destructive decisions. I've learned to let it go - someone has to choose to change on their own, God still has plans for me, but this just made me a little sad.

This is a good and needed video for helping women to understand quiet guys. Often it seems off putting to just throw stuff out there, and I agree completely with not wanting to hog/ fight for air time. It's really good to let people know there are other ways of communicating, and that just because you may have difficulty or not prefer to express yourself verbally, that it's still possible to make your intentions known, and there's nothing inherently wrong with the way your built, but it shows how we can all work to compliment one another. I can give you a general rule about us Men that should help out: we like to talk about stuff we like. Say if you're at the gym ask the guy what exercising he likes, or if you see him reading his bible ask him what his favorite book is. These obviously aren't entire convos on their own but it's a good way to get the ball rolling. Hope this helps!

I am one of those guy that is a bit quieter . It was good to hear it from another man . I have been having trouble with women I thought I needed to be louder , I thought my actions had to be bigger but I guess that is not the case . I had a girlfriend and I opened the car door for her once and she just said that I was not driving . I was angry . I never opened the door for her ever again . I will not lie, but he is pretty much describing Autism Spectrum Disorder. This is not to say that a quiet guy has ASD, but I would not be suprised if this was most likely the case. PS: I was laughing whilst watching this video because funnily enough I am experiencing this🤣😭😭 I think God is trying to tell me that this guy is pursuing me and not stalking me. Trust me he made a fake account and basically apologised for an argument we ended up getting into when we initally met. Your advice is sound and very good. My ex dropped so many clues but I had know idea he was interested-he would pick me up and take me to work, he invited me out to an "arcade", and we will even nap together before we went to work (we worked the night shift). I didn't think of him that way until he started giving someone else attention. One night before we went to work he took a chance and kissed me......Guys, if she has the traits of a Godly woman and you already asked God to bring her into your life, take a chance and be clear that you hope to be more than just friends. (Don't kiss her though, things are much different in modern times). In the beginning, you can pursue her in the extent that you are comfortable, some women are just clueless and they need to know that you want more than friendship. She will either internally jump for joy or start avoiding you, but at least you will have an answer. Don't end up like Cyrano.

This is so painful and cringing to hear. I keep thinking of all the signs that are clear now that you are saying this, but I missed at the time and was even rude to him because of my fear of rejection. I’m terrible. I can talk to everyone accept the guy I’m interested in, I get painfully shy and straight up ignore him. I don’t know how to stop. It hurts. I don’t mean to be hurtful at all. It’s almost like my defense mechanism but I know it’s hurtful. I keep praying to God for help and thinking maybe this next time will be different but it’s always the same story.
