Ten years ago I was on the waiting list for hip replacement. While waiting, I started yoga, and started trying out these exercises. I still have the hip I was born with, than I fixed my knee when it started hurting. The body is really good to heal and regenerate itself. One more comment. When you ware your shoes out at the outer side more, concentrate keeping your feet parallel when walking. (Not turning it out at an angle.) Bingo!

I'm sitting a WHOLE bunch so far this summer (school staff on summer break). Point noted about knee not being bent more than 90 degrees when sitting. No wonder my knees have been in a lot of pain after the 1st 2 days! I thought it was just from laying around but it's more to it than that! I did notice that the longer they're bent (more than 90 degrees 🤦🏽♀️), the more they hurt. Now I know better and can be more conscious of how I sit 🙌🏽😊 and hopefully do more exercises

Using the leg extension machine at the gym really helped strengthen my knees and surrounding muscle. Massively reduced my knee pain
@aldoringo4393 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the suggestion - I'll try that at the gym. The reason it works is because the muscles surrounding the knee increase in their mass, which in turn reduces the impact the knee itself is forced to take. And as you're not actually touching the ground your knee isn't getting damaged, its just being stretched, and taking the tension of your leg.
@maheramhaz3 жыл бұрын

Good info! I have problems with a knee replacement that stiffens up in one knee and the other has Chondromalacia Patella. Already doing quadriceps exercises you gave a while back. Now I will add these!! I can even do these some in the therapy pool at a fitness center I go to with some adaptation. Thank you!$

I have a replaced knee that began hurting again. I thought it needed replaced again. Then my pcp suggested bob & Brad for tendonitis. My pain is not under the patella, but along the inner side. What is Chondromalacis patella?
@brendacluney20522 жыл бұрын
@Peggy Jean Alguer Hi! chondromalacia Patella only would occur in a knee that is not replaced. It is deterioration of the cartilage directly under the kneecap. They used to clean the cartilage taking out the damaged cartilage and for years it helped. Sometimes it could last me 8 to 10 years. There are three grades to it as it worsens in severity. Grades 1 through. Mine is moderate to severe As far as your knee replacement, I can tell you mine has done the same thing if I move certain ways. The pain to the inside of the knee is usually sharp but it is not often. Check as well as to when your knee was done. Pads are placed in artificial knees. These were only good for 10 to 20 years when I had my knee done in 2012. Older knee replacements were good for less time. They need to replace these pads when pain starts getting bad again. Also, many people do not know that they replace the knee but very often the knee has damaged ligaments that they do not repair when they do a knee replacement. I found that out because I had torn a ligament in my knee in a fall before surgery. As a former RN, I research everything. I researched this to find out that they do not repair ligaments whether sprained, pulled, torn or any other reason. You can look up this info or if that is not something you can do, talk to nurses at your orthopedic surgeon or if it has been a long time, and you need to find a new one. Make sure new x-rays have been done but you may need a Cat Scan if they want to check the ligament. Not sure if they can do an MRI with a knee replacement so they usually do an MRI. Hope this helps.

Both of my shoulders had intense scapular winging too !! I started working out my "Serratus Anterior" about 2 months ago and it has reduced drastically, it's unbelievable really. That muscle group is one that we forget a lot, but it's role is to hold our scapula to our ribcage. Look up some Serratus Anterior workouts on youtube (maybe Bob and Brad even have one !!).
