Thank you SO much for this, all of your videos, your Brilliant handbook and course 🎉 Looking forward to hearing about your fair as I was thinking of doing something like this, so it will be great to get more tips and advice. Keep Shining!

I've done a few of these steps already so happy to hear I'm on the right track. Can I ask how you got the hall for free? Is it from your local council for example. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, I've found your videos so helpful 💛

Your welcome 🙏 I was lucky my local hall have funding to deliver community activities so because my fair ticked their boxes they could pull down the money to cover it. If I wasn’t a cic I could not have got this. Most places do at least a discount for cic’s 🫶🏼

I love your videos having recently started watching them. As a small music education provider in local primary schools we are looking to change from Ltd to CIC. Have you any idea how this works with VAT and if/how you can apply to be VAT exempt? I cant find any of your videos with info on this. Have a great weekend 😊

Same as an ltd you register for VAT after 85k but I understand grants are not sales so you don’t pay VAT on them just other sales activities

As a musical instrument education provider if we register as some kind of non for profit organisation it seems like we may be an eligible body and therefore VAT exempt. I'll have to check with some vat specialists/accountants I guess.
