I have had my sportsman 500 for over 18 years and the drive system is basically the same set up as your 570. I never had an issue with anything. Never had a U-joint or CV-joint fail. The U-joints are a pain to grease, though. I can see where you don't like the plastic racks but then again, these 570 are a pretty inexpensive four wheeler.

Mud Puppy. Great breakdown of the pros and cons on the 570. I had a loaded 2017 Hunter Edition complete with steel "rack extenders" along with steel front and rear bumpers. I thought the machine was pretty snappy and fun on the trail but it had so many pops, bangs, knocks, squeaks and buzzes that I thought it was going blow up into a million pieces at any moment! Everyone told me it was normal but I couldn't stand it. It also had more plastic than my daughter's Barby doll mansion. Anyhow, I sold it like a hot biscuit a few months ago and bought a 2018 Honda Rubicon DCT and couldn't be happier. Quality just oozes from the machine. I know you're a foot shift guy and understand your reasoning but I truly believe you'd love the DCT. It shifts smooth as butter in manual mode and the low range transfer case has to be experienced to be appreciated. Would really love to see you try one out. I know you considered it awhile back. Keep up the honest work and most of all...keep having fun !

I think it comes down to intentions of how you ride. I’ve had 02 500HO, a pair of them that I’ve rode the p#$$ out of and had limited normal issues with, but that was when I was a bit younger. I have a pair of 2016 570 EFI that I don’t have any issue with other than heat that I fixed by wrapping the exhaust. But then again, Mama and I don’t ride like we used to 16 years ago. They are perfect for how and what we ride on.

thanks for the heads up , these are things that every purchaser needs to look at ! You need to purchase a machine that suits the style of riding and as a long time offroader i found most machine under 750 cc have problems with deeper mud , i ride a smaller machine for the lighter weight i like narly forest trails the best and find the lighter weight to be easier to flick around but there are many things need to be done to protect any of the off the floor models they just don't come with enough protection for the type of riding to be done !

I have a KQ 750, stock except 26" tires. I do wheelies, mud, deep water, logging roads, woods, you name it except sand. Nothing stops my KQ. One of the best designed air boxes that prevent flooding. I also have a small 2x4 that I've only gotten stuck 1x and I towed it out with the KQ. Would love to see more KQ videos too. Anyways, Most people complaining about what their ATV can't do from what I've seen is from a lack of experience or just not knowing how to handle a situation. A 1000 isn't going to help you if you can't get a 570 to do what you want. I have a 2x4 300 too that I have never gotten stuck with, but a friend who never rides gets stuck all the time when he ride it. The difference, experience.

I've had the 450 for quiet sometime and haven't had a single problem with that. Mine is a 2018. I actually pulled out of a 4 runner that had you might as well call them racing slicks on it. I turned the AWD on and slowly let the 4 tires start spinning and then I had to get onto it pretty hard but they had a Can Am 1000 hook up to it and couldn't budge it. Then a Honda. It did start wiggling it a little. There was a Kawasaki 650. I don't know it would have done it because it was so high geared. I had to back up twice and he started coming out. I reallu wanted the Kawasaki but the price were so high. I do agree with you about the back end dipping a little to low. They were supposed to put adjustible shocks on mine but I didn't get them.

Watchin this in prep for buying a 2021 570. To me mud bogging sounds like a pain in the ass to clean. I live in colorado so ill be tearing up red dirt and a little dobe mud. I know the new 570 comes with a full bumper front and back and a few different models to choose from. The new 570 fits the budget for me and I love the setups they have available. A Grizzly 700 without upgrades is smaller in stature than the polaris. The Grizzly 700 trail edition is almost 3 grand more than the Polaris 570. They are dam near the same stance and the cost is 3k cheaper than yamaha. In all reality you are paying so much more for the 700 grizz and only really gaining 125 cc at the best.

I have a 570 and I really like it for what we do, but all the points made in this video I agree with. Keep in mind you can get these bikes for about half of a new Honda so it's not built nearly as well, but you get what you pay for. Overall for the price I think they're decent bikes and I've beat the tar out of mine riding hard and it's only let me down once. My advice on these is if you're looking for a mud bike, look somewhere else, they hate water. If you want a trail bike that can do some work around the house and you don't want to spend $9000 it's a great buy. I bought my 2015 new as a left over in 2016 for $5500 with rebates and I've had a great time with it. I've been impressed with what it CAN do even with all the limitations given in this video which are accurate.

You complain about the mud performance aspect of a 570 with stock polaris tires, I just bought a 450HO and the only thing I needed to do was change the tires to improve the performance in wet muddy terrain 150%, and you complain about the frame clearance when its 10 1/2 inches of stock ground clearance is the best in the industry, sounds to me like you made an impulse purchase without thinking about what you really wanted in a rig and now you blame it on the minor faults of what is essentially a starter quad, you should of gotten yourself a scrambler or just bit the bullet and went with a can am set up for mud instead of what is basically a utility/light sport quad, good luck with sale

I don’t blame ya. I bought a 570 after refusing to own a Polaris for 15 years. Had 2 in late 90s early 2000s and BOTH had major gearbox failures. Brand new my 570 clanked and had slap in the drivetrain. Apparently this is acceptable to Polaris engineers but slap in gearboxes equals a short life. I never had a Japanese bike in 20 years that had even a noticeable amount of play in the gearbox-drivetrain. Never had a Japan bike ever break on me either and we LIVED on quads everyday here in KY when I was growing up. I paid 4600 bucks for my 2016 570 base model new out the door so I’ll just ride till she blows. I am however going to put real gear oil in the rear diff-gearbox and see what happens. With the slop it has I might even pour some 75/140 in there instead of that water thin stuff Polaris recommends. Maybe it would piss them off if it actually lasts with real gear oil instead of new bike in 3-4 years. Next time I’m definitely going back to Japan made bikes I don’t care who is faster or whatever. Probably a Kawasaki or maybe a Yamaha if they have a twin by then

@@alaynafolk4994 - It hasn't broken. It is inherently weak. The rubber clips can not support anything tied down to the platform, hence the tie down hardware to the fender by passing the rubber clips. I use mine for kitesurfing in Baja and carry a lot of equipment front and back. Also, keep the throttle sensor wires clean or you can get a 520-194 diagnostic code that shuts the rig down.

Dude, wheelies? Are you 17 years old? That u joint angle has NEVER been a problem and I have owned 5 Polaris bikes. U joints rarely wear out unless you submerge your bike in salt water for prolonged periods and never grease them. I have a 2000, 500 with the original u joints and thousands of miles! I have never had any issues with rear axles or belts or drive shafts. Also, If you are riding in deep mud on a regular basis, you should probably buy a more powerful machine. This bike is for trails and lite farm work. BTW....if you want to sell it...focus on the positive aspects of the bike

I have had Honda and Polaris 4 wheelers.i love them both. If you want a comfortable ride with good power that you will be riding on the trails, buy a Polaris. If you want a work horse that you can ride through the mud and last forever but doesn't ride near as comfortable with not quite as much power per cc, buy a Honda. I prefer Polaris. But I don't do much mud riding, I like trail riding. I have a 2020 Polaris 570 and a 2002 Polaris Magnum 500 4x4. The Magnum is not stock and it will outrun a Highlifter 850. My friend has one and he gets so mad when we ride and I embarrasse him in front of his girlfriend. I have had several different brands but I do like the Polaris better. I'm not sure how much I like the 570 though I haven't had it long enough.

They say there is nothing wrong. The guage cluster gose wacko when you start it some times. They claim theres nothing wrong again. Its also snapped the weights off the clutch 2 times. Not warranteed. 900 bucks each time. It is the first polaris i have owned. I will NEVER buy another polaris.
