Hey Eric, thanks so much for your support!

Cool stuff Vera! I can tell; PhDs often linger with answering questions, trying to come up with a perfect answer instead of giving a safe one and going forward. The speed of answering questions is the speed of the project going forward. If your know how is 2x better than another employee but your speed of answering is 10x slower, it effectively means that your productivity is only 20% of the productivity of that employee.

Watch the original video by Dr. David Giltner: Why won't industry managers hire PhDs? kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2e0Xnipe8enldU A little back story to share: This interview was recorded during David's vacation in Paris. It was a long workday for me, and we had this recorded quickly after lunch.....After I got home from work, I realized the video was not properly saved! I had to find a creative way to present the interview with the audio I had! So, hope you all still enjoy the additional visuals I have prepared for this interview!

Yes, it was a candid solution because the video idea was not planned! Perhaps I can interview you with my umbrella mic in person some day!

Thanks for this inspiring video. I have been a post doc over a year so far. I'd love to try to work in industry. I am currently in Japan.

Hi Vitor, I would imagine there would be a lot of STEM career options in the Japanese science industry. Are you already on the Grad Grid? It's a great platform for networking privately on Linkedin with other PhD alumni: www.linkedin.com/groups/8476427/

@@PhDCoffeeTime Thanks for your reply, Vera. I subscribed to Grad Grid this weekend. I also tried to add you to my network on LinkedIn but, as we do not have any contact in common in our networks, I could not make it. I admire your work on KZbin. You provide good information as well as you touch in very important topics for our careers. Cheers

This is an excellent video. It shares very big ideas that the industry values but never quite articulate. The directors intuitively know them and just stay away from hiring PhDs.

Hi Asrif, really strange I only see this now, seems like KZbin has hidden this comment! Quick feedback for your channel: you can customize the channel to show the playlist better! Happy to stay in touch if you think of ways we can collaborate!
