@Oliver Leong Old guy commenting here, best advice I share is to be an athlete in your movements.. ie; balanced from your feet up including sucking in your belly button to your spine aka core engagement.

@@NODAK9 Thats good to keep yourself injury free but what might be bad athletic form for one exercise is great muscle activation for another
@NODAK95 жыл бұрын
@trinitygodsaint Agreed. Unfortunately I’ve been injured a bunch and have undergone multiple surgeries. Going in for another one soon too, I’m extremely lucky to have access to Dr’s and physical therapist as well. *Edited. Sports medicine is underrated imho and unfortunately not covered under most insurance policy’s. I’m very fortunate

we all know that there is almost no activation in that exercise with the dumbbell, as the the elbow has to be behind the back with flexion of the bicep to fully contract the back muscles and the arm has to be raise over head to fully stretch and to activate the Latissimus Dorsi

How exactly does a standing barbell row qualify as a "unique variation"? That is literally the most popular upper back exercise, together with pullups. You even chose the overhand grip version of the exercise, if you would have chose the underhand grip version i would have gave you a pass. Thats like doing a "unique chest variations" video and then showing how to benchpress.

@muscleandstrength5 жыл бұрын
madj0hn it’s unique to me bc he takes the weight all the way to the floor and lifts his torso slightly during the concentric portion of the lift. Most keep a stagnant flat back and don’t touch the weight to the floor

Not really good exercises for people with lower back problems. Not recommended at all!
@muscleandstrength5 жыл бұрын
Those with lower back problems or other injuries/health concerns should consult with their physician before beginning any form of exercise.
5 жыл бұрын
@@muscleandstrength It would be nice if you (at the beginning) say this. And to do it much more professionally say: in case of this or that type or injury do this or that! Give more variations of the same movement, on a bench, etc. I understand that Brandon is very very young (i'm 44 with lower back impingement) but athletic (many say a look like a 30+ year-old). It's just an good advise, I think. I've been working out for about 30 years and i've come to know my body a lot. There are some others exercises that i don't see so often like the ones to decompress the spinal cord after back training and squat to prevent my condition. Just like all body decompression!
