One invariable lesson I've learnt from Navie is simplicity & intentionality 👌.. Navie's use of textures to create these super distinctive melodies is unmatched 🔥🔥💯.. Simplicity really is the ultimate sophistication. Thank you Navie! 🙌

using halftime with turned down mixlevel can really be a gamechanger. it also creates a more complicated melody and gives the melody more movement

How is halftime different from grossbeat exactly?
@PRODBYS1LENT
@PRODBYS1LENT 2 жыл бұрын
@@jokmenen_ halftime is just a more in-depth version of a single gross beat preset. Gross beat only has a 1/2 speed preset but halftime has multiple settings such as 4x and 1.5x and you can adjust it more to fit your melody. Halftime also sounds a bit better in my opinion but gross beat works fine

Isn't that a good thing? His beats still fit the genre, but have a personal touch unlike the thousands of generic type beat channels on KZbin Also, it's harder to replicate someone's sound when they have diverse roots
@thefinstasis
@thefinstasis 2 жыл бұрын
@@Sergio-nb4hj it is not a bad thing, it just has something to do with tastes. Even though Navie D is a great teacher and I like the way his beats sound, I highly doubt that those beats land placements with trap artists. It's fine to have a niche and stay true to your roots, whether you are a boombap producer or a trap producer, that's all I am saying

I'm still using LMMS and Audacity to make beats, so all the plugins don't apply to me, but I still learn a lot of music theory from your vids. Thank you 🔥🔥👊 PS. Have you ever tried making a beat on free software like LMMS and Audacity? I'd love to see a video of you comparing things you miss having/are more difficult or restricting about this software vs your typical software

I'd categorize the last beat as DLE trap or shadow trap. A lot of the underground scene in my city makes a combo of the three styles presented here, I always thought that they were not all that unique. I guess Night Lovell, Kellbender, BONES, Fifty Grand, etc. were part of the collective rap consciousness by now. If anyone is interested, take the drums from beat number two, the melodic rhythms of one, and the sound selection of three and you'll get what a lot of producers from Minnesota are exploring currently.
