Hi Suvi I love your tutorials^^ I was just wondering, how would you personally go about making a character holding a guitar (without the arms moving, just stiff)?

As I see it there are currently 2 ways available to most people. You could either send the guitar holding pose from Unity to VSeeFace using VMC-protocol. Emiliana has an example project for this on VSeeFace's homepage. Alternatively you could follow my tutorial part 6 but that would "break" the model and make it always stick to that pose. Personally I'd do it using VSeeFace's new animation system but that isn't released yet - also at least atm that system disables all bodypart tracking so not sure if that would be optimal for your case either

hey i have another question once i add these assets and save them as a vrm file when i open them in any motion capture software it disappers how do i fix this

If I drag a prefab or a custom material I can't see them on Blendshape - Material List. A material only appear when I create a Quad and drag the material on that quad, I'm trying to hide/show a particle system making invisible alpa with blendshape, any idea on how can I do that? sorry cause i'm noob :(. but can we turn on or off new stuff by add it transparent and create new blendshpeclip then turn alpha to 100% to make it appear?

I created my own sword model along with a scabbard, but some parts of the object are like transparent. I can't seem to find any answer to this online. The only close solution I found was that the object is probably to thin for a VRM model.

If I were to pair this with animation, would it be possible to get a gamepad/controller in view in VeeSeeFace to just kinda be there and move with the model so I can show I'm playing the game without having to have hand tracking and an object?

Quite possibly. Alternatively you could set the pose in VRM Posing Desktop or use VNyan to adjust your arm as well as add the 3d prop for the controller

Hey, another super helpful and fun vid from you! So I tried adding a hat (made in blender) to the head joint (just below it so it's nested in the right bone) but when I rotate the head now, the anchor point has changed so it doesn't look right. Did I miss something? It looks like the axis has moved up so it's between the top of the hat and the chin, rather than the middle of the head. I don't know why it's doing it :O

MissingComponentException: There is no 'SkinnedMeshRenderer' attached to the "Hat" game object, but a script is trying to access it. You probably need to add a SkinnedMeshRenderer to the game object "Hat". Or your script needs to check if the component is attached before using it.

Sometimes when you drag objects to bones it's possible that they actually end up under wrong bone. So try dragging it to the head again to make sure it's where it's supposed to be

Instead of dizzy first I did the menacing signs from jojo but I want to make them kind shake/vibrate do u know how I could do that

you could use vsf sdk with a flipbook shader like poiyomi

so many questions but i will start with this 1. Can u be able to add a projector or make them shoot? i want to make a magic spell and I'm wondering if its possible

Right now nope but once VSeeFace tracker gets its new feature you can adf particle systems. Right now you'd need to fake it with multiple blendshapes and clever use of texture coordinate animation

@@IceWolfGemGaming Nope there isn't one yet. I'd probably advise waiting until the new VSeeFace feature since particle systems will make it much easier

Actually! I usually have soo many extra expressions I add in unity, I usually create extra vrm clips then manually add them to the blendshape file one by one. However, every time i close the program and reopen I have to re-add the "extra" expressions I make. Do you happen to know anything on how to fix that by chance? ; w ;

I've heard other people run into this too - haven't encountered it personally so far though so I'm not really sure what's going on there. It sounds like your model might be holding reference to a wrong blendshape index if nothing gets saved. Alternatively the blendshape index may have incorrect references to the clips but pretty difficult to say without running into the same issue.

Actually I got one for that already. Check the part 16 of the tutorial series~ If you want something easier that doesn't involve Blender then you could check the tutorial part 2 for merging vroid hair presets if you got ear hair preset for vroid

Make them in blender, commission someone or see if you can find something from sketchfab or unity asset store etc

Ok so... I've tried to figure this out for a while now.. When I import the 3D model (A model edited in blender) i attach the texture and all that, make it invisible, and when I go to make it visible in the Blend Shapes the preview doesn't show the accessories appearing again.. ? ;( I assumed the preview doesn't show it as it is a separate 3D model so I went to export the whole character - with the accessories added, but when I click "export" and save it to a location the avatar doesn't save? I don't even get an error message.. Edit: (Question) Does the accessories that are imported from blender work if i export the 3D model as an FBX? Or should I make it into a BLENDER file?

Blendshapes use prefab for preview so changes should either be applied from scene to prefab or you should add accessories while the prefab is open. Accessories may also show in wrong place or size in the preview. They should still work as long as their material shows up

@Suvidriel I add the Accessories when the prefab is opened, everything works fairly fine until I go to the export section - thats where the problem is at. Every time i go to export an avatar with added accessories the export button wont work - It opens the export settings yes, but by the time i go to export it and save it to a location the export button doesnt export it... I honestly dont know what to do anymore :(

I have actually fixed the problem - I changed the UniVRM version - right now It works perfectly fine and I'm using Unity 2019.4.16f1 with UniVRM 0.53.0 Thank you for the help though - and the tutorial still helped - ONCE I figured out the problem haha! I hope I can help another person with a similar issue!

00:10 how to make eyes red? Is it from change material?

In this specific case it's just change of the color of the material. You could also do a texture swap if you wanted to. Do check out my tutorials about the more advanced expressions

First off, just wanted to say that I enjoy your accent. So um......good job at that? Also, I feel like there is a way to tie assets to an expression, I just don't know what that way is. Any suggestions? Like for instance, toggle on and off a pair of glasses for instance.

I tried this and it worked except my hat stayed still,, like it wasn’t fixed to the model when my model moved?

it may be on the wrong node. It sometimes happens when adding stuff that they end up on the parent node. Try if dragging the hat right on top of the head node will solve it

Make sure to be in the Open Prefab view when you add assets to your model. Blendshapes only detect the materials on prefab and not on the model that has been dropped to scene

Don't forget to make sure the preview prefab on the blend shape inspector was set to the right prefab/new prefab

Add it to your model in the prefab-view by clicking the open prefab-button on your model. After that you can animate material properties in blendshape clips. I have some other tutorials that cover those

@@binhnguyencong9127 If you just need a static scale then you can simply select the quad and adjust the scale-value of the transform in the inspector

Heyo! When I export my model with a hat, the hat has no texture in VSeeFace and just stays white...but in Unity everything is okay. How could I fix this?

What shader are you using for the hat? When you export the model as vrm then non-compatible shaders will be swapped to standard shader

Yea you can attach stuff in blender but you'll then need to change the vertex groups. Maybe take a look to a tutorial I did 2 weeks ago about elf ears. That will teach a little bit about the vertex groups

There was a video where she explain how to fix the missing reference exception in unity. I checked all the videos and I can't still find it. Can anyone give me a hand?

Depends alot on where it's happening. In Unity a reference exception can happen anywhere when a missing reference is encountered. What's the whole error message you're getting?

You need to set the material's backface culling off

@@Chiyoka Go to the wing material's properties in Unity. If it's using mtoon shader then you can find the Cull-property. Turn that off
