I've had a bunch of fun and success using single leg defence to set up "The Special" for the take down. Thank you.!

Moving it between their legs is surprisingly effective as a stopgap measure even after they lift it fairly high. I don't often comment on instructional videos but damn, this actually helped my single leg defense. Thanks so much

YESSSS! Before this, all I had in my tool box for single leg escape was the whizzer, head push, and stomp. All the little nuances you add are what make or break a technique. Oh, that last little run through makes it look like you've had a few cups of joe! Ha ha! All the best and thanks!

Thank ya coach Brian. Always great stuff. I love seeing your basics you got the little details that people leave out. I'm always looking to be a better grappler I boxed in high school and never wrestled. You keep me looking like I know what I'm doing a bit in jui jitsu class and it's much appreciated. You always got the cleanest videos .

Fantastic series - thanks! I dunno how much gi jiu jitsu you do, but what single leg defense works best if they have the lapel fed through your legs? Usually set up from sit up guard. Grateful for any answers

As soon as you pick up the single...you pinch and smash down and stay straight, he’s putting no weight on that leg and is not turning the corner. And why is a guy hopping around on one leg “pushing” around a guy on two legs!?!?

Coach, wouldn't be wiser to always get the whizzer first before rotating the leg to the outside? Because othewise, he could get our leg high to his armpit.

These counters are cool coach I've seen the last two on the video you made, (ahh you didnt show the whizzer detail though before) I've seen the first one from coach roddy from SGB gym But what if he tries to sweep the standing leg? what's your counter to that? Go to guard or some other technique coach, maybe he cant sweep cos your pressing his head away?
@MaxLohMusic
@MaxLohMusic 3 жыл бұрын
IMO hop around at a somewhat steep angle and anticipate the sweep with your hopping leg. Sometimes you can jump over or around the sweep. It might buy you some time to escape but you can't hang out there indefinitely
