It's almost... painful... a very lovely sort of emotion that grabs the heart! These moments you provide with a brush, when light hits the subject & glistens and shadows delineate so exquisitely, drawing one right into the place! Hi, Paul. Did you notice the man in bed in the trees left of picture around 16:40 ? His head actually survived to the end! Thank you for this lovely painting, the clear commentary and the colour mixes on screen. There's always some sort of magic in the air when watching a painting come to life on the screen in this way. I think that a lot of ArtTubers feel that making this sort of video doesn't attract audiences any more, but I think that your channel gives the lie to that! I've been twice to Lanzarote, years ago, once when a relative beginner to painting and sketching en plein air, the other, a few years later, and this painting, plus your La Gomera clips, brought back peaceful and happy memories of going solo with kit and picnic while my husband dived. Have you been to Lanzarote and visited the Cesar Manrique house and garden? It was breathtakingly absorbing and amazing when I visited, and was the highlight of that first trip. The island had changed a lot between those two visits, though. How did your northern hemisphere students cope with the fast drying times (or did last summer's heat waves prepare them?)? They all looked deeply immersed in their paintings in your clips. ... 😄 Thanks again, Paul.

Aloha from Hawai’i, dear Paul and Margot! Wishing you the best two year website anniversary ever. I was surprised to realize that I have been watching and doing your tutorials for almost that whole time! Here is a small token of my GRATITUDE and APPRECIATION for both of you. I have watched many other artists’ tutorials and demos on youtube, and always come back to yours. First, the brevity and economy of the way you film and explain things. Second, you have given us a multitude of other artists’ styles to try, which has really allowed me to explore and sloooooowly develop what I hope is my own style emerging. Third, the challenges are so fun! My goal is to join you on one of your cruises in the next year or so. MAHALO NUI (“thank you very much” in Hawaiian). Love to both of you. -Dianne Jordan, Honolulu
