I'm just learning about propegating plants. This is the first time I've watched you, and I think you share good information.

Hii, I got my first albo monstera in february with literally 4 leaves and since then It has grown 6 more leaves with an incredible variegation and well stablished. I always wanted to have one of these but they are truly expensive. I found a website where they have them for 80€ so it was not as "expensive" as the other ones I saw for at least 300€ and some of them they were just cuttings. I'm so happy I bought it because she's quite a fast-growing plant

Nice video! I have my cutting in perlite (with loads of algae, as it stand in a clear container 😅). First time I ever tried it with a Monstera Albo. Thought it had one axillary bud, but there was a surprising one on the bottom as well. Both are shooting out new leaves at the moment. Did nothing fancy, they are just standing in a south facing window. So perlite is a recommendation as wel.

Hi dear! I just cut mine (followed by your instructions!) just have a question! How long should I wait or when should I put them in the water or sphagnum after the cut😂

Sorry I just got to see your message. How are the cuttings? 💚

My mid cutting came with 4 or 5 very long aerial roots, and all but one rotted in water prop. I’ve removed them and have her in sphagnum moss now what can I use to help prevent the bacteria from spreading any further?

Sorry to hear that! I would try to spray with hydrogen peroxide and keep an eye on the healthy root. How is it now?

Hello, my monstera has only one stem. if i cut one node from the top of the stem and leave the bottom. Will the bottom part still grow? And produce new leaves?

If the bottom part has a node, it will produce new growth eventually

Why do you leave half of the stem in the water for the 1st cutting? Isn't it enough that the root is in water? Im asking because i bought a cutting, and that's what the seller recommended, only put the root in the water. My cutting has 3 aerial roots, and one of them is rather long, so it was possible to put in a vase this way, the stem is not submerged at all. Is it better or worse, does the stem need water?
@plantsbutbetter11 ай бұрын
It's recommended to keep only the roots in water since some cuttings are sensitive and could rot easily. I kept mine with half of the stem only because my plant was very healthy and acclimated to my conditions and I knew it has very little chance to rot, but if your cutting is fresh and has transit stress/damage, the seller's advice is good advice.

I don’t like the whole plant to be stark half moon leaves only, I love a mix of variegated and the occasional half moon popping out here and there. I have a White Wizard that has beautifully variegated leaves, and two of them are full half moons, and it’s just gorgeous🥰

at 10 min - why not just pour out the water instead of suspending the plant?
@plantsbutbetter Жыл бұрын
It's totally optional, but I do this only to make sure the stem it's not in water so the cutting doesn't rot, and also to have enough water with enough oxygen in case I forget to change the water weekly 😁
