Before we start, let's take a moment to talk about the actions you should take to increase your chances of successful data recovery:
1. Stop using the flash drive immediately after discovering that your data has been lost.
2. Disconnect the flash drive from your computer and store it somewhere safe until you have time to start the data recovery process.
3. Don’t attempt to copy data from the flash drive to a different location because you would most likely only make everything worse.
Solution #1: Restore Deleted Files from USB Drive Using CMD
1. Connect the USB flash drive to your computer.
2. Open the Start menu, type "cmd", and hit Enter on your keyboard.
3. Type "chkdsk X: /f" in the Command Prompt window and hit Enter. Just make sure to replace “X” with the letter assigned to your USB flash drive.recover deleted files from flash drive without software
4. Finally, type "ATTRIB -H -R -S /S /D X:*.*" and hit the Enter key (Again, replace “X” with the drive letter of the USB drive).recover deleted files from flash drive
5. Wait for the process to be completed.
Solution #2: Use the Restore Previous Versions Feature
1. Connect the USB flash drive to your computer.
2. Open the Start menu, type "This pc", and hit Enter on your keyboard.
3. Right-click on your USB flash drive and select "Properties".
4. Go to the "Previous Versions" tab and look at the list of available recovery options.
5. Select a previous version and click "Restore".
Solution #3: Use a Data Recovery Software

This happened to my mother 10 years ago She called the IT guy and told Jim that she was copying and it all disappeared. 'Tried the CMD solution: 1st command worked fine ... but don't know where the results went after the 2nd command. Then tried Solution #2, unsure if my Explorer has the 'Home' tab for 'History'. Downloaded DD Basic: I mistakenly chose a Full / Deep / ARMethods scan which produced 7.5 GB. Too much, most of which is safe and sound in the USB stick as originally stored. Q: Would DD Pro allow me to "retrieve" the file names I had for folders & files? I accidentally lost only a few folders (w/their corresponding files [hundreds]). Many in the scan are now renamed. Wow thank you so much for this tutorial. I recovered my file via Disk Drill from my USB. You see while i was working the excel froze so i ended the program creating recovery files. I saved new files while deleted the old files so as not to confuse it with the recovery file. While doing so i accidentally deleted a file which i shouldnt. Thanks! This happened to me a few days ago. When I was gonna work on some files, I noticed that my USB memory seemed to have cleansed itself of all the containing files. I panicked and started to look for solutions online and found this video. For me, it was Disk Drill that worked. Although some files were unrestorable, I managed to get some of the most important files back. Unfortunately, the second tip didn't help at all since the USB history had been inactivated all the time. From now on, I'm also gonna store files on Google Drive. That way, I have double guarantee just in case something like this would happen again.

I know this is from 3 years ago but I think this might have saved me. the only method that seems to be working is the last one from what I'm seeing but the thing is still scanning. I have years of digital artwork I've done saved on that. a grand majority of it was stuff I don't have saved anywhere nor shown to anyone, as its not been posted anywhere either. Over 1k images. I misclicked when deleting a file and accidentally deleted the whole entire folder. I felt like I was about to cry... like I lost YEARS of work in the matter of a second... I hope this works, and like I said its already looking like it might... thank you... I'm so so happy this video exists I can't stress that enough
