what I like to do to get the sweet oatmeal without adding sugar, is to blend some ripe bananas with just a little water or plant milk and pour this over the oatmeal. It sweetens it right up

I was just about to comment and say THANK YOU for showing that you use a microwave, and then you went on to say how they aren't harmful!! Part of sticking to this lifestyle (especially if it's a drastic change) is keeping it simple and realistic! I used to feel like I was in the wrong because all of the healthful and pretty youtubers who make everything stovetop, but it's not realistic for my schedule or lifestyle. @@sagejunkie7089 I just cook up some peppers and onions with some savory seasonings in a pot, wilt some spinach and then add in the water and oats and cook. It's really good with nutritional yeast too. I usually make enough for the week and eat leftovers cold with hot sauce. A very non traditional way to eat oats. 😂

I love veggies for breakfast. I don't like sweet things, and I really don't like anything sweet in the morning. There's no "breakfast food" in my opinion, it's all just "food"

I use very ripe bananas as a. Sweetener or dates or raisins soaked in the oatmeal while it’s cooking. Also for savory sweet potato breakfast with broccoli i ad 1tsp of miso paste and mix it up with 2 tbsp of warm water mixed well and drizzle all over broccoli and potatoes. Delish ☺️

While I love sweet things for breakfast (or any time really lol) sometimes a sheet pan of roasted vegg and potatoes over greens is just the best.

Love porridge! Mine is finely chopped apple & cinnamon. Found the Japanese sweet potatoes at my Indian grocery store. An exciting moment indeed. I have broccoli & sweet potatoes for breakfast too😊🎉

Beautiful family Chelsea! Another way to sweeten is blend banana and dates/date paste. I sometimes add nut butter, but not daily as it adds more fat and calories.

I watched another video in which you measured 80 grams of oatmeal. Tried it for 2 days, it was a LOT. So happy to see that Nick measures 1,5 cup for three people 😅 Weighed half a cup, which is 50 grams. Never thought I would be happy with having to eat less hahaha

I love veggies for breakfast! I never liked eating a super sweet breakfast. So a while back, I started eating breakfast salads, but I like steamed cruciferous veggies too.😊

Yes, I have now stopped putting maple syrup on the porridge and the fruit is sufficient for sweetness.

Wow! Those are some super interesting ideas! I just wish that porridge would fill me up. I mean, I love it and I feel full after eating a bowl, but after one or two hours I am completely starving again! I don't understand how people can eat that without snacking the entire time until lunch. I really wish I could find a solution to that, because I really love making it but have stopped since it never keeps me full.

That’s strange. Plant foods are generally a lot less calorically dense than animal based foods. Meaning their great for weight loss. Processed foods aren’t great for weight loss though. Even if their plant based

I like to take those kinds of sweet potatoes and slice them into rounds, then sprinkle with cinnamon, ground corriander, a little ground cumin and then roast in oven until soft, served with broccoli for breakfast.

I have a question, how do you eat a dry potato with no sauce on it? I struggle to like potato’s without some kind of fat on it because it adds flavor and makes it less dry. What do you recommend?

When I first try to cut out sugar I replaced the brown sugar I was putting on my porridge with cinnamon. Thought I would really miss the brown sugar but I didn't.

That was Uber interesting 🤔. I still struggle to figure out what the calorie density is by reading the nutritional panel on rice cakes, vegan yoghurt 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ etc. I need help ☹️☹️

Chelsea is it ok not to eat breakfast? I listen to my body when it's hungry and that's usually around noon. In the morning I drink my coffee with NutPod creamer and stevia. Any suggestions on how to fight the stevia habit? Down 11lbs and 9 more to go woo hooo #loveplantbaseeating ;-)

Did you try sautéing with water? If thats not working for you, I think as little as a teaspoon of oil is fine!

Love these ideas for breakfast. I really like porridge for breakfast with banana or berries in but a couple of hours later I'm starving again. It just doesn't seem to keep me full up til lunch 🤔 anyone else have this issue?

Same here. I've had oatmeal every day with some form of fruit and 1 hour later I have been famished. Not sure if i should switch to potatoes and veggies to stay full.

Are those rolled oats? And you can just bite right into the frozen berry? Or does it defrost in the milk? Seems like it would be hard on ones teeth. Love your videos, keep ‘em coming

Love your vlogs, I’m learning a lot! I have 24lb of lockdown weight to lose, I am vegan snd don’t eat much vegan junk but drink wine and eat vegan chocolate 😬😂 I will try this way of eating. I’m the same, only soya in coffee, almond doesn’t belong in coffee! 🤢😂
