5 Years of No maintenance and No Down Time , except for that flat tire once.
STICKER PRICE $14,500 - bought it for $13,500 , with 2K down and a 2K TRADE IN with my wifes VW that kept leaking oil and engine blowing up.
This car has now been PAID OFF , and I get to basically drive it around for FREE. I drive much less these days and my time is much more always MY OWN time so I easily find myself charging at FREE charging stations around austin and use that free energy for about 2-3 days and then will find that time to go hang out at Whole Foods , or "The Domain" which is a really cool open mix used outdoor mall type of area, it has a Tesla store and more free charging stations around that area then you could ever ICE them all. #DriveEV #ElectricAuto #BEV #DrivingBEV #DrivingElectric

Bryan, 2 years later, I am wondering how your Kia Soul ev has held up....especially since I have exactly the same car, same black with silver accents. Mine is just a 2017. I bought it in June of 2021, so 4 yrs old but with low miles, only 21k miles on it when I bought it. I am now at 52k after 3 years. The car is 7. However, an issue has come up. It relates to a recall on the battery pack, so I am hoping for an eventual swap. So far, Kia sent me a recall notice last June! Saying they did not yet have a fix but were working on something for a software upgrade. It is now January. Still no word. But suddenly last fall, it experienced a sudden loss of battery range. I went from a max of 96 miles range, to now a max of 72. Not Kosher! I am not pleased. No longer a very practical range for even going an hour down the highway. Of course, at 70 mpg, the range effectively tanks by more than a third. Some You Tube discussions have had a few owners reporting Kia swapped their batteries out under recall coverage. My fingers are crossed. Otherwise, still a great little car. I really love the size, the ergonomics, and the practicality. That CHAdeMO plug, though UGH! No talk anywhere of any chance of high speed charging adapters. You dreamed of a Cybertruck.....now out but not the specs Musk initially touted. For me the dream is the solar electric aptera. They're getting very close to production.

I just got a 2015 Soul EV. I’m loving it. I have a 91 mile range and it’s perfect for my daily commute. I’m hoping when the EV9 comes out I might trade up. Do you find the Tesla adapter worth the investment? I’ve just been over night changing on a 110 outlet or Chademo charging for free at a local dealership

Out here in the 210 soooo with our heat here, I had a question. Our LEAF now takes forever to star blastin the cold air and we already had the AC checked a bunch of times lol how does the AC hold up on our 102 to 106 days? I know with being electric it sometimes takes a few minutes for it to really get goin...

Hi, I am also a Texan and I am currently living in Houston. I travel maybe once a year to San Antonio.What would you say is the time difference from making an idk 3+ hours trip with a normal ICE car vs. an Electric? Also, do you find that finding a charger along route is difficult? I've been set in stone on buying an electric car for years now and I'm pretty sure I'll be able to bite the bullet in the beginning of next year. I really wanted the Bolt, but with this last recall I doubt I'll be able to get one, so now I have my eye on the Soul EV. Also, thanks for being one of the few channels for electric cars that deal with hot climates.

Oh it's definitely HOT in Texas , well I have to admit the EV market has stalled for years now There are still really amazing EVs brand new but they cost $$$$ I would suggest looking at the brand new 2021 Nissan Leaf , it's only 19K which is an amazing price for any brand new car , and I think you get a tax credit . I bought my Kia Soul.Used , driving far distances is still not great in an EV I Texas unless you get at least 150 mile range Don't forget you can fast charge really fast like in 30 minutes So you won't waste that much extra time , but you can also charge for free I might not have mentioned but for almost 1 full year or more now , I have been charging for FREE almost every time I charge , tons of free chargers all over town , For me when I go out of town , I take my wife's car or rent a car Houston to Austin is solid , Houston to SA solid , the only dead zone is really corpus Christi area Get the plug in app and start planning trios Find me on Twitter or FB and if you have any more question shout EVs I love helping

The key to the EV is that with gas all you have is gas , but with EV you have many many options , slower with any wall outlet like your garage, L2 charging which can be FREE , or fast charging, some even free fast charging which is like free gasoline , so lots to research

Bryan, My 2016 just diagnosed 66% SOH 57K and I read the second owner only get 6yr warranty instead of OG 100K 10Yr warranty. If you're coming up on 6 yr get your Battery State of Health checked.

great comment , good idea ..... but too bad I ditched the Kia Soul EV and traded it into Tesla and got a Tesla Model 3 Long Range , I now have 300 miles of Range and FSD beta , my car drives itself and its faster then a lambo its wild.

@@b6s4shelter Hey there! Thanks for the speedy response. This particular one does not have a warranty any longer. Do you think I should include a warranty? They said their aren't any recalls on the vehicle. I am going to ask for the SOH from them when I go back today...

@@lindseyraenelle I'm 62K in to owning it from new and nothing has failed other than the battery chemistry. Get a formal printout of the SOH from KIA's KDS. It will be multiple pages with many cell readouts etc and on Page 1 SOH %. it is the only indicator to give you an idea of how long your battery will last. at 66% I was down to 54mi of range, charged to 100%. Others have dropped to 29-39% and were only getting 30mi of range. It correlates directly to usability and longevity. As to Warranty. Your Basic 5yr 60K might be gone but the Battery and High voltage Warranty should transfer, or you should understand factually from KIA, no one else, if you are or are NOT benefiting from 10yr 100K mi 70% coverage you get from new.

honestly the range got so bad a few months back , was staying around 60-65 miles of range so I said I am done with this and traded it in for a tesla model 3 LR
