3 YEAR MICROLOCS UPDATE!!! Length Check, Changing my Rotation, Dyeing my Locs

I started doing a 3-point rotation, but after a few months, I switched to 2 points. Due to the thinness of my hair at the time, I wanted my microlocs to look fuller. I've been using the 2-point rotation ever since, and I don't regret it at all. It also takes me only a couple of hours to complete.

Congrats gal! Also hit 3yrs this month. I do 2pt rotation coz I wanted mine to be thick, if u wanna just try it for a couple of months & see whether u'll like it.

I'm 4.5 years locd and everything you have expressed is literally what I said to myself when I was at your stage...the blunt cut and waiting for the top layer to get to my chin but yea I keep delaying it because I love the length too! I also changed my rotation from 4 to 2 and I loved it. It made it easier to maintain and if you have 4c hair it will allow the hair to get slightly puffier and thicker...room to breathe you know? A 2 point rotation is mainly for larger sized locs the shape of ur locs will change as well...U will have a flatter loc as opposed to a rounder 1 with the 4...Also 2 point takes longer in my opinion even tho it seems quicker... I think u should keep it in between with a 3 If ur choosing to change it on smaller locs...Hopefully u will get the results ur looking for in tryin out the 2

Okay I feel we're in the same phase of the loc journey in terms of processing the length/shapeI JUST cut my locs chin length bob and I LOVE ITTTTTT! I got so much volume and I'm finally getting rid of the thin parts on the side. We have the SAME thought process haha. I just could NOT take it anymore. And I'm a certified nit picker lol

8:12 if you wait for the top locs to catch up with the ones at the bottom before trimming, putting it in a ponytail might be a lil impossible. As the lower locs would be shorter than those at the top. If you wont be bothered then cool. I was thinking of doing same too but then I'd love to do a loc ponytail one day and i feel I'll miss out if i trim 😫 10:04 i think the sizes of your locs would change if you switch rotations. They might probably become bigger if you start doing 2 point rotation. In my opinion, the 3 point might not visibly change the size of your locs if you decide to switch rotation

Yess I agree that’s why I want to wait until my bottom locs are a little bit longer as well - maybe collar bone length. Currently, to do a high ponytail I have to use bobby pins to pin the back pieces, but that’s as far as I’ll go lol. That’s really interesting about the 2 point rotation, makes sense though because the looser pattern allows the hair to swell more. We will see ☺️ love the feedback💕

I reached 1-year two strand twist microlocs on 9/7! So we are close on our loc journey! I'm still not completely locd, but I can definitely see the difference it's amazing what our hair can do! 😊 hope to be able to get more added to the front area of my hairline...trying to get these edges to grow longer.
