Congratulations !!! I hope you can learn a lot of Lithuanian, it's a language it deserves to be learned in order to keep it alive. Your child would be bilingual giving her/him a great advantage in this modern life. I think Lithuania is a great place to live in full of green and all the confort of a developed country. Cheers from Colombia ;)

Do not be afraid to say "prašau, kalbėkite lėčiau", it is not weak to do so. Or to use "kalbėk" instead of "kalbėkite", if you are speaking to a friend. You have expressed a huge courage already by learning the language, locals (correct me, if I am wrong) will be happy to speak to you more slowly, let alone speak in their native language, which is natural to them, unlike English. Unless you speak with some of the youngest people in this world, who will respond in English either way, because English is influencing lives of all of us, both positively and negatively.

Congratulations on the planned newborn! Your videos are very useful not only for foreigners living or planning to live in Lithuania but also for Lithuanians who live here. Believe it or not, there aren’t many quality online channels in Lithuanian language in this genre. The best and most useful media of this sort comes from your own channel and a few Russian language channels run by Russian or Belarusian newcomers, some of whom you already know and have cooperated with. Therefore, it’s genuinely interesting to watch your videos despite myself being Lithuanian and Vilnius being my home city which I know fairly well. Also, kudos for mentioning topics like urban planning and traffic. This is one topic that Lithuanians unfortunately have very little understanding of, and the fact that you are touching these subjects is much appreciated. Vilnius has a big problem with its public transport and urban planning, or rather lack thereof. It would be awesome if you brought this up a little more often and perhaps even produced a few videos in the style of @NotJustBikes or similar successful channels that create similar videos to yours but with an emphasis on quality urban planning, transport, and public spaces. Thanks again for great videos and keep up the good work!

Yes, Eastern Europe increasingly becoming like New Eldorado for westerners, including western Europeans, Americans and Canadians; because liberalism and woke ideologies, social utopia of multiculturalism ruined their countries from inside and once beautiful countries now slowly becoming unlivable repulsive places - this is especially visible in California, France and etc. Such is sad reality.

Just gotta say, cause I don't know if anyone else has said/will say this. We appreciate you just for the effort of trying to adapt to Lithuania (even if you don't realistically need to, cause you work from home) and people will definitely notice that you've learned Lithuanian when you do break through the language barrier. I just gotta say, get out there and get talking, there is not better way (my great grandfather didn't speak a lick of russian, got thrown into the soviet army, came back fluent) so yeah, maybe you can take a page from that and get out there speaking, we're not much for small talk as you probably know, but I bet you can still have some conversations with some people for sure.

If you're giving yourself another 3 years to get decent at learning the language, then that's absolutely possible. You'll have already lived there for 6 years! My Lithuanian parents moved to the U.S. in their early 40s and learned enough English to get by on their own in that amount of time. My dad solely from working, and my mom from both working and taking a community college course. Working seems to be a good way to be forced to learn. And if it's a basic kind of job, just doing manual tasks alongside others, then you can potentially get a good basic language foundation.
