Thank you for addressing which plants are toxic to pets or not! Having a curious puppy who can and will get her little mouth onto everything I bring into the house, regardless what I do to keep it away from her, makes plant shopping hard. I have been searching for indoor plants which might be good to try, and every video I've had to keep pausing at each suggestion to google "is this pet safe" before I get attached, but you did the hard work for me! Thanks!

Thank you for sharing Julie!! I have most of these!! My experience.... Ive lost several plants due to harder Winters and scale, so I had to get two mini indoor greenhouses and so I've placed all of my plants in them except, for my Spider plant, Pothos and Bromeliads which are high up on bathroom shelves in my bathroom so my cat can't reach them, and they've all been thriving especially, under growlights!! Even my Maidenhair fern which I love, and I've killed several, is thriving in the greenhouse!!

Great video for information and styling low light, easy maintenance plants. I’ve researched this topic for awhile before I delved into plant-parenting. Thank you again, Julie!! We own pathos and Monstera plants among others, I found this video to be SUPER helpful on how to care for them. I had NO idea they were toxic for pets, thankfully our cat is super good about not bothering them. She likely instinctively knows, I hope. But after watching this video and learning of all the low maintenance and low-light plants out there, it makes me want to acquire more and have them all over the house. Thank you so much for all your knowledge!!

Thank you for this great video! I appreciate you also mentioning watering schedules and making sure you understand each plants own needs. One of the best things I've done after starting a plant collection, is checking each plant daily, having a moisture meter and not doing a scheduled water day! So many factors can contribute to those needs and can change week to week. My sunny window plants will not need as much water after a week of gloomy weather, etc. Also I got a cutting of a spider plant that is just green, not variegated. I find this type to be a more vigorous grower, the babies are big! And they don't get brown tips.. Also, when I put the variegated and non variegated varieties together in a pit, the variegated for some reason do so much better!

Have you tried Bird's nest ferns, kangaroo paw ferns or Staghorn ferns? These are pretty easy to care for and keep thriving. Maidenhair fern is my absolute favorite fern, but it is mty nemesis! I have tried growing it many times over my decades of house plant collecting.

My figs and I loved your video.🌳 I have a blank wall in a stairwell with a pendant light and would love some ideas on green walls or trailing plants over the stairs.

Love this idea for a future video Helen! I’ll work on it 🪴

Definitely agree with all the plants but the snake plant is the best starter plant . I water mine once a month or when I remember and it thrives

I'm a classic under-waterer. I now check them twice a week & give another small drink if necessary. Ever since I changed their schedule in the winter, they've been growing bigger by the day, putting out new leaves & rhizomes! Beautiful plants!

Even my Maidenhair fern which I love, and I've killed several, is thriving in the greenhouse!!🌱💚🥰

@@JulieKhuu Aww have you looked into the Ikea cabinets that have exploded all over instagram lol? And I meant to say I have two "mini" greenhouses not, many lol!! Mine are the typical green metal greenhouses with the plastic covers but my hope is to have the Ikea cabinets by next year!!🥰🙏🏼🙏🏼

@@aida087 Ikea has several beautiful cabinets that caught my eye for my smaller plants. The RUDSTA Glass-door cabinet for $99.99 is a beautiful light green color. It is 16.5" wide, 14 5/8" deep, 61" tall. The max load per shelf is 11 lb. The other is the BAGGEBO Cabinet with glass doors for only $39.99 is white. Ir is 11.75" deep, 45 5/8" tall & 13 3/8" wide. The max load per shelf is 11 lbs. Both cabinets are metal.

Love your video. I'm getting ready to buy my 1st plant and this video was so helpful. Can you tell me the name of the plant in the white pot at 9:10 please. I love the shape.

This is a very informative video. I have at least 13 of these plants and almost all of them have done well in low light. However, my ponytail palm seems to do great in my west facing window. But thanks for taking the time to make this video.

Love this video! I know nothing about plants. Do these pots have holes to better control the water amount in the soil? I noticed that pots don’t always come with holes, but I thought it was a must.
@JulieKhuu2 жыл бұрын
They should have drainage holes, but if not, simply place a smaller nursery pot right into the planter and add rocks at the bottom Aryane 👍🏻
