You would think that if you had a back that fast.....and saw his highlights yourself......you might have done more to help the kid. Marcus didn't have a clue what he was doing at Oklahoma. He had never left the county he was from. And he was probably the best back in the nation.... NO... He was.

His uncles greed killed the potentially greatest running back of all time

Do you remember your sophmore fall practice? Y'all show up & freshman have been there for a week already, its offensive backs against defensive backs, a (hot freshman) is left corner, you run Marcus right, the freshman thought he could stop you, you ran straight thru him, he bounced up off the ground like he tackled you, except you were well passed him and jogging back toward the offense side. I'll never forget that. You were a spectacular runner, I regret you had so many other people trying to tell you who and what you should be (for them).

I love Barry but the handling of Marcus wasn’t his greatest moment as a coach.

Way too hard on the most talented athlete he ever had. A little bit more praise would've went a long way.

viener switwzer should be prosecuted for his inept handling of Marcus Dupree. It was outright criminal.

I usually knock the transfer portal, every chance I get. But, if it had existed in 1982, Marcus Dupree would have gotten a visit from John Robinson out of USC. He would have plugged Marcus in right after Marcus Allen. They weren't running that dopey wishbone, so Marcus could have hit the eye running.
