I get confused whether to keep my toes touching and heels apart even when I move in to chair pose from mountain pose. It gives alot of stress in my knees if I keep my toes touching in chair pose. Am I not doing it right?

It's different for everyone, if it stresses your knees then keeping your feet and legs hip width distance apart in both mountain pose and chair pose is the best option. If it feels okay, you can bring the big toes together and the heels apart slightly.

I am not a commenter but I had to comment on this video. This was the best beginner yoga video I have seen. I was able to not continually watch the screen and still be able to know the moves you were doing. It was extremely descriptive and engaging. Wonderful Job!

I have always wanted to get into yoga and fitness. Been vegan for 3 years. Yes I was a dumpster diving vegan living out of the whole foods compost bin. Better days now. A few poses were a bit difficult since I don't have a lot of core strength built up yet but I do love the mentions of like pushing shoulder blades together or pulling the shoulder back because I realize I wasn't doing those things and forces me to focus more on what each muscle is doing. Very informative. Great for this time of quarantine :)

As a yogi who fell out of practice years ago, this sequence was wonderful! It's really refreshing to find a channel that isn't 100% power/flow/etc. (i.e. intense cardio) for advanced yogis. I'm really digging the variety on your channel, esp. yin yoga

Never, ever, ever, have I enjoyed any type of yoga, ever. After years and years of avoiding it, I randomly searched for beginner yoga on KZbin, and now I'm doing your videos a few times a week. The time flies by, I'm able to stay focused, and I also get a great stretch which is great since the other days I don't do yoga, I tend to do cardio/weights and really need a good stretch. The description of the moves is so perfect, I don't need to look at the screen constantly and can instead focus on form and breathing.

That's totally normal! When I started I could only hold positions for a few seconds but now it's no problem, just keep at it!

Thank you Kassandra, I’ve never been much of a work out person. I have 4 sisters who all practice yoga and I’m the last to join in. Before the pandemic I had a lot of weight gain from menopause and depression. This pandemic has put me in a position of taking a long look at what I want the rest of my life to look like. It’s a struggle for me to get going each day but once I do my yoga practices (I follow 3 instructors) I feel a lot better. Thank you. This workout is helping me connect with my body and build strength where I didn’t have any. Namaste 🙏🏼

Hello Kassandra, In my 20’s and later in my 40’s, I briefly practiced yoga. Now I’m 65-years old and I was furloughed (in quarantine) due to the pandemic. I took advantage of my time at home to practice yoga again. After trying different yoga instructors on KZbin, I ended following you. I have arthritis and varicose veins and it is hard to exercise. However I have been exercising to your 30-minute Beginner Yoga class for almost two months and it has been great for my strength. I want to thank you for helping me out to go back to this awesome discipline.

I find that in beginner videos the instructor really tends to rush through the breaths. From what I'm told, breathing is very important in yoga but I do find that often, including in this video sometimes, the instructor will actually clip their breathing instructions to get to the next pose -- e.g., "inhale into this stretch, and exhale to rel--AND NOW STEP BACK WITH THE LEFT FOOT..." I know there is a sense of "flow" to yoga and maybe some poses should only be held for certain lengths of time but I find that my breath gets quite interrupted often because the focus is more on the stretching, not on getting in touch with your natural body rhythm and being in the moment ... if I just wanted to stretch and workout, I'd do pilates! Not a criticism of only this video, but many others that I've seen. Sorry for the rant. Overall a pretty good workout though.

I know this video is a couple of years old, but it is one of my go to videos. It is the perfect pace. The holds are long enough that you can adjust your pose, but not so long your muscle is exhausted. Thank you.

Hi Kassandra - I really like your style of yoga. I saw a comment below that I agree with completely!! You are descriptive enough (not too much) that I don’t have to keep my eyes on the screen the whole time. I’m REALLY struggling with getting enough exercise during the “shelter in place” order. I usually swim 2 miles a day... do you have a longer class on your website for beginners that really like to be challenged?? I’m able to get every pose, except going from the downward dog to plank to the floor for cobra. Any suggestions? I am SO GRATEFUL for the fact that you put this on KZbin. I’m happy to pay for a good class. Thank you!!!!!

Beginner Yogi here - started doing yoga regularly 2-3 months ago. I saw some discussions about whether or not this class is a beginner class. And IMO it absolutely is. Why? - There are no super difficult poses (you don't have to shape yourself into a pretzel 😜) - Kassandra gives lots of cues, so that you can follow along without having to always look at the TV But it is a yoga practice for strength. So is it for all beginners? Probably not. If you are new to, or starting back again with physical exercise, something shorter (eg. 10 minute evening challenge) would probably be a good start for you. If you already have some strength from other workouts, but are new to yoga - this is the practice for you 😃👍

I see that this is an older video. But I enjoyed it so much. It's perfect after an exhausting day, sitting mostly un a chair.
