I am a 70 year old who recently retired and began yoga classes one month before the Covid-19 lock down. I found your classes online after trying many others that just didn't work for me. I love your voice and capacity to explain and simplify the poses. I feel great afterwards! You rock Kassandra!

As a experienced yoga teacher, I would encourage any level student to practice this class. That said, labeling it “beginner” could be discouraging to true beginning level students. While all the poses individually are basic, the way some are sequenced (strung together) takes the class to a higher level between 25 and 42 minutes. Generally sequencing more than 2 poses on the long edge of the mat takes liberty with the beginning label. Unarguably stepping through from Down Dog to Warrior 1 to Pyramid to Warrior 3 to Tree is not a beginner sequence. Fun as it might be. I mention this only because I was so discouraged after taking my very first yoga class that I didn’t try yoga again for two years. Not because the class was poorly taught, but because it was mislabeled. I was led to believe it was a class for “everybody” and it was for more advanced students. So enjoy the class and if some parts are too challenging as a beginner that’s okay. You’ll get there with practice. That’s why is called Yoga PRACTICE, not Yoga workout.

A month ago I couldn't finish this video, I got about halfway through and my feet and thighs were in so much pain I actually sat on the mat and cried. Today my feet were still in pain (there's a lot of me for them to hold up) but I could breath through it and finished the video feeling so much better about myself. The changes yoga can make in such a short time astounds me. Your videos are awesome and I love that you take time to respond to questions in the comments, you seem to really care about everyone who watches your videos, it makes this SO much nicer to do!

I felt really distressed during my first time doing this video. I used to do lots of yoga but realized it has been over 10 years since then. I have very limited flexibility and my hands and arms kept going numb when held over my head. I am 29 years old. But your comment has really helped me have hope to come back to this video and improve my strength and confidence. Thank you!

I am a very consistent BJJ practitioner, I also practice kickboxing but mainly focus on grappling for mma. I use other athletic activities like jogging, kettlebell training and HIIT to supplement my training and improve my athleticism. Yoga and specifically this channel has helped me so much, first with getting the flexibility needed to perform at those sports but also I've noticed that without yoga I get a lot more sore or the soreness lasts longer also I think this has prevented me from getting injured during training. So thanks a lot Kassandra your videos have prevented a lot of injury and helped me push my body to where I want to bring it. Keep doing it!!!

Thank you yet again for your videos. I think I shared in another comment that I am an incomplete quadriplegic and former ballet dancer. I have been using your videos to supplement my rehab and daily fitness routine. I can't stand on my own, but today managed a downward dog pose for the first time in over 5 years. My injury was in 2012. Modifying your workouts has made a huge difference in how I see my "incomplete" body. Namaste!

After doing beginner then intermediate yoga for three years, my wife and I just tried this one and we both really enjoy it. It’s essentially a more detailed and in depth version of an advanced-beginner vinyasa yoga routine, learning in a more foundational way how to do poses we have been doing for a while. I highly recommend!

I loved this class. I really felt the work in various parts of my body but I know enough not to push to the point of pain. I'm 63 and have been practicing 2-3 times a week for 22 years. I would not call this a beginner class and would caution anyone with injuries or advanced age to practice care since this is a flowing class with few breaks. I'm so glad to have found your wonderful classes, Kassandra. You are so wise and such a great teacher for someone so young.

I loved this. I like the way you specify every time which limb to use, right or left and that the instructions are clear enough that we don’t have to spend time twisting head to watch the screen. This is the first time I was able to walk from downward dog to top of mat. Thank you!

62 years young and have been trying different yoga instructors, online, for the last 3 months. You are my go-to, Kassandra! You just make me feel great. (Less migraines is a plus, too) I'm still very challenged by holding poses, my knees need padding, my toes can't turn under very well due to a bunionectomy years ago, but I'm just doing what I can and loving the way it starts my day. Looked for another class, tried several that just were beyond me even though they said "beginner." Luckily, I found YOU. This class is perfect. I have never been able to commit and finish a workout, but this was truly amazing. Afrer I had my baby, my body hasn't felt great. Great instruction for beginners! While I consider myself an intermediate level yogi, this beginner slow flow class challenged me in strength while going slow in the poses.

Great class. A bit too fast moving/complex transitions for absolute beginners...I am not new to yoga, but returing after a few years hiatus due to illness and this was a challenge....made me realize how strong I use to be and gives me something to work towards. Thank you.

I enjoyed this very much. I felt it was a bit advanced for me but I feel I will improve by repeating this video. My balance is bad! I had trouble with some of the poses due to poor balance. Thank you so much Kassandra :-) I have been doing your yin yoga classes for the last 5 months to try and help manage my severe chronic illness which has left me bedound/housebound. Although I could only manage a few minutes initially, I've gradually built up until I can manage your yin yoga videos almost every day. I so want to manage a yoga flow class though!I'm still too weak to do this, and some of the yin yoga poses, I've had to adapt as my arms are weak. BUT, I have created a playlist for beginner yoga flow classes so that when I feel I am able to attempt it, at least I have a place to start, even if I only manage a few minutes initially! I used to do quite a bit of yoga and switched my focus to weightlifting for a while. Because of COVID, I can't get to the gym and started feeling sluggish. This is a great re-introduction to yoga and I like that it's longer as it helps me settle into poses and remember my form.

Another great class, thanks Kassandra! For a beginner class you did a lot of different poses with really clear instruction. I've been practicing yoga for decades and still found it pretty intense! Just a couple of small suggestions. I think it's worth reminding us about keeping our breath free and easy throughout. Second, sorry but your black pants made it hard to see the position of your legs in some poses. Not really an issue in more advanced classes but I think more important for beginners.

This class was my first Kassandra experience, at that time, I found it extremely difficult to keep up and complete, even with the modifications. Before this, I had very little yoga knowledge. That was over two years ago. I did it again today and was able to complete the session, without modifying any of the poses. I was even able to do the yogi squats, and hold them! Thanks again Kassandra. You are an amazing teacher and motivator. 🙏🏾💕

My first time doing the yoga... I only managed to go through till 28:17 minutes. Body type: Petite & skinny. The breathing is good I don't have a problem. Problem is with my joints. knees, hip bone, spine (lifting the hand while stretched and head looking up) very stiff and painful. Muscles are definitely stiff too. But I'm gonna continue doing the yoga with this video till I feel less to no pain at all. Thank you. 😙😙😙😙

This is my first time getting through an hour practice! Many thanks for guiding me through it! I also did the yoga squat for the first time during a flow. I’m still working on it, and was a little wobbly on warrior 3 and tree pose, but I managed to finish the whole practice. I was intimidated to practice for an hour at a time for some reason, but I’ve done 40 min practices before. I’m glad I pushed myself, and completed this practice. Thanks again!

I'm so loving your videos and enjoying the beginner classes. I really like the 60-minute classes on strength and flexibility but there aren't that many for beginners. Do you think you might be adding more soon? Thanks for all you do!
