If you were to shoot all your steel targets suppressed and sample the sound they each make, you could then work out the "note" of each of them, and then work out the correct order in which to shoot them to allow you to play a tune on them all. Almost like Hickoks symphony in 7.62 in the key of A#R for example. Mike Oldfield released Tubular bells many years ago, you could do similar with targets. You could be the next big thing Hickok of course you'd have to sign with A&R records, hehehe. Or even make a special appearance on the Gong Show.

"American inventor Hiram Percy Maxim, son of Maxim gun inventor Hiram Stevens Maximand co-founder of the American Radio Relay League, is usually credited with inventing and selling the first commercially successful silencer around 1902, receiving a patent for it on March 30, 1909.[2][3][4] Maxim gave his device the popularly trademarked name "Maxim Silencer",[5] and they were regularly advertised in sporting goods magazines.[6]The muffler for internal combustion engineswas developed in parallel with the firearm silencer by Maxim in the early 20th century, using many of the same techniques to provide quieter-running engines, and in many English-speaking countries automobile mufflers are called silencers." - wikipedia

Not to mention the labor involved fabricating the intricate parts involved and all the different set ups tool changes and what not for threading drilling and construction of the body, blast baffle, end caps, and other baffles contained in the canister. The time invested in labor and machinery is what you are paying for.

I GOT THIS! In a word: versatility. Supersonic, it has about the same external and terminal ballistics as 7.62x39, from what I hear. Subsonic is about a .45 ACP, and it's really quiet. @Subtlenimbus Жыл бұрын
I don’t know for sure, but I suspect that factory subsonic ammo is made to be subsonic in 16” barrels. I’ve seen some velocities in shorter barrels, and they are really slow, like 900 fps in some cases. Of course, if you handload you can dial them in to whatever you want.
@rwcowell Жыл бұрын
Subsonic 300 Blackout is designed to be fired from an SBR suppressed at CQB. I initially thought about getting a PSA 16" barrel with the pistol length gas system. But I think a shorter barrel of 10.5" or 11.5" max would be more beneficial with a Can under CQB to maintain close quarters maneuverability and less interference. If you are simply getting one for home defense, I would stick with a 12 gauge shotgun with a red dot mounted on it.

MrWalkwaySc2 I pay 26 cents each for .223. That's not my concern though, I just don't understand why someone would want to replace .223 with 300 aac. .223 is known by its accuracy, recoil, carry weight, trajectory and wound characteristics to be the best battle ammo for close to mid range combat. I don't see how subsonic ammo would do you any good in the military either, all that's doing is killing your range, accuracy, and bullet energy.

@hickok454 жыл бұрын
LIke me, you are accustomed to adapting to the size of things. I think you'd do fine with any full size lever gun; you just need a good butt pad extender. The biggest problem is getting more length on the stock so that your face and eye is better positioned in relationship to the sights. With a slip-on stock extension, you'd probably enjoy about any of the Winchesters or Marlins, or clones of them. Hard to beat a Winchester Model 73 or 86. A Marlin Model 94 is great, too, but they can be smallish. Even the classic Model 92 is one you'd probably like if you got it in full length barrel.

For anyone wondering, you can easily convert any AR15 to shoot .300 AAC....all you do is get a new barrel. As you saw the Blackout fits in standard AR mags, because I believe it's basically a .223/5.56 casing with a .308 bullet. As far as function, I think it's a perfect hybrid of an AR platform with AK knockdown/penetration. And i've heard that the .300 AAC is REALLY PICKY ABOUT MAGS, i heard one guy say p-mags don't work at all for him...but it's not the magazine completely, it's the whole cartridge too. Reloading .300 would be super cheap (that's "regular" supersonic)...not sure if subsonic would be as easy as i think, but i would just buy them. Lucky I live in a state where I can legally own a suppressor..

+Zatracenec Fun fact, they are required in certain circumstances in Norway! We are as strict as the strictest American states but silencers are totally not regulated and for good reasons(no hearing damage). US has much better over all gun laws but on silences they are oddly idiotic. And before somebody asks; Yes we have AR's in Norway too.

+Nico By Sound suppressors became illegal/restricted during the Great depression. The government was afraid poachers would use it to illegally over hunt.

I did some research. Those two liters were training to be Shakespearean actors, and actually used your video as an audition to get hired for stage work. Their death scenes went on to get rave reviews from local reporters in various plays! But seriously, that was a good video, I’m sure I am not the only one to learn a lot while really enjoying it. Thank you!
