Great video.. I have a Franci 300Win that I put a Nikon Buckmaster scope on, bore sighted, then ran 3 rounds through it... I have a Browning AB3 Hunter, put another Nikon Buckmaster on it bore sighted it, and put it back in the safe. I couldn't pass either of them up.. I bought "a few" new rifles in the last 7 years but never got to use them.. I had a stroke July 2019, so I have to have someone to take me hunting now. Thanks for putting together this video. I'm a 270 kinda guy.. Yes, I bought all three.. 270wsm and 6.8 Western after my stroke and 270Win, that I was planning on hunting with.. I'm look for comparisons between the three.. Anyway, that was the first time I saw a video for the 300Win vs. the 300wsm.. I'm still above ground and can still purchase firearms.. This is good. 😊

I had an ischemic stroke in February. Now I'm nervous to fire my higher recoil firearms. Recovered most movement after 4 months bedridden and continued OT and PT. Lots of time for the range being permanently disabled but don't want to risk anything.

My favorite big game rifle is rem 700 xcr 300wsm with 190 ABLR handload and zeiss RS with upgrade trigger and little modifying on stock. It has taken everything from nilgai to axis. Accurate beast

Happy New Year. by the way. I use a 300WM and 270 WSM and 240 WBY. I had a 300 WSM up until a tracking incident. A 3 legged deer went for a long ways, good bullet placement wrong bullet. Got rid of the 300 WSM. I enjoy your videos for content and meat annihilation, yours is one of very few that show an honest result of terminal ballistics, Thank You and keep up the good work.

Same situation and conclusion for me. The 200 grain federal terminal Ascent is 1/2 MOA and a hammer on deer to moose out of my 300 wsm M70 and the rifle is overall 3 inches shorter than my M70 300 wm.

Well I started with the .300 Weatherby magnum Weatherby MK5, then the .300 WSM Tikka T3, both are number one cartridges. The .300 WSM, is my out of state hunts, with the .300 Weatherby magnum in state hunts only. this is just amazing. This has been here for 100 years and nobody managed to destroy it or fence it off. It’s pretty cool.

I have nothing against the WSM but for dangerous game I think the Win Mag has some advantages. Longer cartridges tend to feed more reliably in fast cycling scenarios. The belt, though not needed, does add some redundancy for good headspacing when factory rounds are made a bit loose for easier feeding. I believe the Win Mag will generally reach the same velocity with less pressure and when using slow burning powders will get the velocity advantage with the same pressures. The Win Mag is a proven performer as a sniper and hunting cartridge, meaning it has been thoroughly tested in all scenarios. It continues to be a popular option in a standard long action that is also used by the .06 based cartridges--also meaning it has a commonly familiar bolt stroke.

I love my Browning X-Bolt 300 WSM. Definitely has me 2nd guessing my love for it as much after this test. I thought they were a little closer in performance but as you said it maybe a little more temp sensitive powder & barrel length. With that being said it probably is closer than your test shows.

Have the Nosler Custom 48 in 300WSM for years and never used it yet. To be honest after using the 308win, 270win, and 338win I dont have the opportunity to try it. Theres only so few opportunity to get these things out and used.

I would go with the regular 300 win mag, brass and ammo are more available and more affordable. One cool thing I've seen for 300 wsm, is ar10 uppers. With a modified 762nato mag for single stack.

I would imagine that the .300 WSM would pick up about 50-70 fps. It would still be slower. The real question is which one is faster with the same OAL rifle? Shorter action and no brake on the .300 WSM makes the whole package around 4 1/2-5” shorter. If you added it to the barrel of the WSM you’d probably be about the same speed. Contrarily, if you had the .300 Win Mag and did without the brake and 2 1/2” of barrel you may end up with significantly more recoil and about a 50 fps velocity advantage.

Great video 🎉 both have their uses 👍. 300 wsm is pretty munch the surviver of the wsm gives good results out short action bolt action or gas gun . As of 300 win mag you need full size action to run it. My cusin in wife love the. For deer and bear here in Pennsylvania. I know lot of other guys do also. Just happen do a video on where find reloading data for 7mm wsm for new reloader ask me on a video. Iv taken lot of whitetail with Remington core-loc and the power points . Use one last year work well was beat results at 30yrd thorough top of deer shoulder hit young deer hard maybe ran 50yards or less bleed out going down hill from a 30-06 with no exit why reloading some Hornady bullets and few others to try. always ran core-loc from the 7mm mag i had no issues.

Make the super 300wsm take the barrel off the 300 wsm and put it in the winmag. Long action 300 wsm hand load it with the 212 barnes lrx bore rider. See vortex videos for more information/ explanation.

That's because the tray was on it. It was zeroed with the tray on it. You take the tray off and it's -123.7. it's supposed to be that way.
