there's a few parts to it, but basically the fifth protects you against making yourself liable for criminal prosecution. So if there's no criminal penalties attached, the government can make you talk. That could be because you already signed a non-prosecution agreement, plead out, etc. There's other exceptions too, for instance you do not have the right to take the 5th against the IRS, even if answering their questions about your income might result in prosecution. Child Protective Services also has some exceptions.

Look at his subscriber to views ratio. While he has definitely built an audience most of those subscribers are likely paid for (just like how you can pay to get more views, there are programs out there). it shows he has 755+k subscribers yet vast majority of his videos are under 100-200k views. The only videos he has with significant views are about the amber heard trial and young thug. Outside of KZbin Bruce is virtually never talked about in the hip hop community.

When I was young and in the streets, I brought a law book to understand criminal law at least on a surface level. That book probably help me keep my freedom, I had no illusions as to what I was involved and how it could affect me. I did my crimes according to the time I was willing to do in case things got wrong, I also avoided crimes that I couldn't see myself sitting long for. Also I avoided having co-d's and definitely avoided guys who always got caught. Left the game broke, a little psychological trauma and karma for misdeeds but I'm free physically... long story short no one escaped the game clean. "The pain is invisible but you cant hide the scares".
