In today's Malaysia vlog, I reveal the 6 Things You Should Never Do in Malaysia, as well as my Don't Do This in Kuala Lumpur!
This isn't a complete list of what not to do in Malaysia, just some things I observed from my recent trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. If you are Malaysian, a Malaysia expat, or living in Malaysia and you have any other suggestions of things related to the topic of don't do this in Malaysia, make sure you comment below.
Malaysia tourism is a big driver of the Malaysian economy, so they do overlook somethings that tourist do, but try to respect the cultural differences when you travel Malaysia.
There are many rules in Malaysia that might not be obvious to tourists. Hopefully you can use this to supplement your Malaysia travel guide advice and not be viewed as a rude tourist.
I love Malaysia - don't let the rules or culture differences keep you from visiting. Just be mindful of those cultural differences and enjoy this awesome country.

30 And A Wake Up ... hi, overall, the list is okay 👌.. just a few notes, the durian thingy, only applicable to hotels and offices.. not houses especially when most families have durians in their own household 😁 of course it’s good manners to ask if you’re visiting people’s home before bringing it though 👍 Another note on umbrella thingy, to each his/her own of course... Malaysian are quite adaptable to it and we do have the rainy season so we usually do bring it during that season and not everyday 😁😁 Great video and thank you

another few never do's in Malaysia 1. Wear appropriately when entering religious place, goverment offices to show some respect 2. Try not to wear many jewelry on the road, and do not walk alone in the dark if you do so. 3. Malaysian beach are not bikini friendly, if you do so, make sure there is no one around. (otherwise there will be earthquake) 4. Bring something when visiting someone would be better although not practice by some people. 5. Never leave Malaysia without trying nasi lemak, asam laksa, char kuey teow, roti canai

Vape too.. but you can smoke@vape at least 3 meter away from the restaurants or dining places... its mean you are allow to smoke outdoor.. not around the dining people(kids, preggy women, families etc).. if you do not follow this good smoke/vape ethiquete, malaysian people dining around you will stare at you berjemaah(altogether)... ...haha... Actually, this is not apply in other country, when i am use to be with this rule, when i am dining on abroad vacation, people just vaping next to my family's table... we can eat food inside coffee@strawberry mist mix together..haha🤪

Here's some more tips: - when crossing the road, some vehicles may flash their lights, DO NOT CROSS as it means "get out of the way". Use your hand (✋) instead to make the vehicles stop. - if you are driving, beware of drunk driver especially at night and please don't drive when you're drunk. - don't shake hands with opposite sex unless they offer first. - wear appropriate clothes when visiting religious places - don't use your tourist privileges here, we don't care. In other words, we respect you so we expect the same in return - you can no longer smoke at the restaurants Enjoy your stay!

Haha most of what happens in Malaysia is the opposite of whatever you said.. we carry durians indoor and we eat them regardless of smell, we throw stuff over people's head to our mates, we have pda but not in general public, probably in cars parked around a garden. The shoes are definitely something we are not supposed to wear indoors, not everyone wears shoes indoors, lol, and if you find malaysian citizens a little noisy 👌, well that's because most of us are afterall loud mouths bahaha. First, about the durians, yes. It is not allowed in the hotel but it is most welcomed in almost all malaysian's houses. If you want to bring some as a gift, you might considered buying 'Musang King' or D29 durians. Please bring at least 10 at least for us to completely satisfied. Secondly, about the umbrella. Actually it just a coincidence malaysians braught an umbrella because most of us are often forget about it. You will be lucky if you have one standby inside of your car. If you wont, dont be shamed because it is normal. Well, I am malaysian and I am proud of my country.

Hi! This is my first time seeing this youtube channel.I am always ready to watch Malaysian-about videos! ;D I am Muslim and Im from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. You missed ONE MORE THING 7 : Don't eat in front of Muslims and Peoples When its "Bulan Puasa" Its where you fast And DONT EAT until its evening. It is "Fasting Month" and i probably would say that it would be more nice and appropriate if you eat when its evening. Because in our country,Fasting ends when its evening and they eat Kurma which i cant eat bc i dont like it very much😂 (Im 9 years old) And of course you can eat but i probably would eat queitly and not Very secretly but just dont eat too open..It makes people hungry and can't resist. And also Yes,Of course you can buy foods anytime and even before evening.People in malaysian sometimes often buys food before its Evening (Before its time to eat after Fasting basically) And eat it when its time. For me,sometimes i cant resist so i eat for two days and more.Because its not really like " YOU SHOULD FAST IF YOU ARE MUSLIM,EVEN A KID" I mean of course you should and could because other people are fasting too and its disrespectful to just openly eating food in front of them. But as kids,we can skip of course sometimes but we dont skip always or every day! Thats all i have to tell you! THANKS FOR READING THIS EVEN IF IT LONGER THAN YOUR HOMEWORK

Little tips In Malaysia, when you mentioned the umbrella, YES you should always carry an umbrella around cause you can't trust the rain, when it rain once and it stops raining, it will start raining the second time, it's pretty annoying, but it can be relaxing. Tip two, NEVER use your left hand, especially when your eating, only use it when your cleaning up after your going to the bathroom, use your right hand instead. Tip three If it's your first time being in Malaysia, please, try to get used to eating with your hands, it's okay if you do want to, but it will consider to show respect. And don't be embarrassed about it. Tip four No cursing, if you want to, do it somewhere else, not in public, it can be very embarrassing. Tip five No drugs or alcohol, yes you can smoke there, but don't do it when you see a sign saying, no smoking. Tip six Don't wear clothes that is reveling, it's disrespectful and disgusting to others who are Muslim, wear jeans, sweaters, etc but just no reveling clothes. Tip seven Don't celebrate Christmas, Halloween, thanks giving, happy fourth of July, in Malaysia, we only celebrate Hari Raya, Chinese new year/ lunar new year, Malaysia day, kids day, teachers day, mother's/father's day, and more that I can't even remember. So please don't do that, it can be VERY embarrassing.

Too funny about the shoes. I lived in the US for 12 years. Being from Canada most people don't wear their shoes in the house. We had to put a sign up for my American friends because we could not understand and to this day I don't get it why people would want to wear their dirty shoes inside on carpet or any flooring. Japan is the same which again makes sense.

Yep. If food and/or drinks are presented to a visitor but the the visitor is choosing not to bother the host or simply is fulled, just finish off the drinks n taste the food just a bit. It is to honour n to give face to the host. Most importantly in so doing, it would be a subtle act of doa (prayer to Allah) by the visitor wishing blessing, more rezki (sustanance), n prosperity for the host's household. Ultimately, it is only naturally makes sense n common decency n good manners of the visitor.

In Malaysia, showing dislike for any kind of food is rude regardless of the cuisine. From personal experience, I always get scolded for scrunching my face when eating food I don't like. I don't know why it's such a taboo to dislike something.

@@dropmelon showing dislike is rude, I will scold my son too if he reacted dislike to the food in front of ppl, it's bad to say it is awful to the food ppl actually love it. you can always say you are not used to the taste. which is better than "dislike".

Bringing food including durian to someone's home is considered a good gesture...but not to Hotel room because we dont want our guest to feel uncomfortabe. You can show your affection like kissing and hugging (not french kiss though) but not exesscively. Thing to add is, never point your index finger directly towards someone's face...it is insulting!
