Benton Hunter+How old were you when 311 released "Down?" I was in 6th grade. I was goin out with s girl who was gorgeous and I couldn't even believe she gave me the time of day. But we loved this album do I' bring it over, play it in her dad's garage CD player, so this was the album I really experienced a lot of my "firsts" to. Thanks Nick ; )

Was born in 1989 and my brother bought the blue album and I remember listening to this in his car when I was 6, he had a nice ass soundsystem, and I thought this was the dopest shit ever. Been obsessed with 311 ever since. This and misdirected hostility were my favorite songs as a 6 year old. My mom caught me singing along, "You're saying that you're tortured, give me a fuckin break, and maybe take out the source of your despairing. What do I mean? kick the fuckin heroin." She didn't approve, haha. Not sure what normal 6 year old listens to. But it was 311, rage against the machine, and tool when I was a kid. Good times.
@rars0n
@rars0n 4 жыл бұрын
Misdirected Hostility is one of my favorites! You had a lot of great music in your young life, when I was 6 I had a Def Leppard cassette. And a Steve Winwood cassette! Uh... yeah. I will say this, my oldest brother turned me on to Led Zeppelin, Jane's Addiction, Nine Inch Nails, and went to the first couple Lollapalooza shows bringing back shit like Rage Against the Machine, so I have very little to complain about. I didn't quite give 311 enough of a chance until years later, but it's all good, I love their entire discography. It's not about what you listen to or when you listen to it, it's about the music you love and how it affects you. At least that's my opinion.

Same dude!! I was 7 and my mom actually bought me the blue album because I was so obsessed with the down video on mtv haha. Many many memories listening to that album. Pretty much feels like I discovered who I was in that album a lot earlier than most! Cheers! 🤘🏻

Chill light on my sight as my ego becomes A funky child with some words on my tongue Be like intake of breath and my mouth gets loose While I scatter my spit I dream of juice Have you ever made out in dark hallways Displayed a kiss that made your day or say Played a track from your record collection It's your mix, congratulations Changed a lot and then some some Know that we have always been down down If I ever didn't thank you you Then just let me do it now Come back in I bet you light up when we start the show Follow me now very closely 'cause I told you so You know we glow because we throw sun rays We be freaky and we wanna stay Changed a lot and then some some Know that we have always been down down If I ever didn't thank you you Then just let me do it now Lightning strikes yo we be in that violent force of light Guaranteed to turn it out as bad as dolomite 'Cause we're dope kid change like a chameleon And the channel whenever that wack show real world is on You know we dazzle like ghetto box boomin' battles Rattle inside your head feel redeemed like Cola bottles Fall in love with your teachers on the wax we are self made Check the technique, 311 in LA Changed a lot and then some some Know that we have always been down down If I ever didn't thank you you Then just let me do it now Keep my feet on the ground Keep my head in the clouds Electrified by the sound Comes from the down And changed a lot and then some some Know that we have always been down down And if I ever didn't thank you you Then just let me do it now

It was great to hang with someone who I so admired growing up in my teen years and beyond enjoying their music all these years. They have to be one of the tightest bands I've ever heard. They're like machines. If they ever do mess up, I'm not hearing it. They just kill every song they play.

Yeah this isn't a real performance in the slightest. Vocals are perfectly in tune, guitars are using wah effects and not a single foot is tapping a pedal. Sad honestly.

@@ianmason2003 Wait, what? Are you saying this is the 1995 album version? I'm going to refrain from being insulting and give you the benefit of the doubt by honestly asking the question.

@@spoonerluv I'm also going to give you the benefit of the doubt, did you know that Tim Mahoney is the guitarist? He's the guy on the far left side who is usually out of frame. His pedal board is briefly shown at the beginning, and about the :59 point you can see him using the wah. Granted, you don't see the pedal, but he's using it as you can tell by how he's moving. The vocals are not perfectly in tune. I'm not sure what you're hearing there. Typical Nick vocals, with SA not singing a damn thing, so none of his vocals have to be in tune. And also, it's nowhere near the album version, which is why I left the previous guy the comment that I did. Again, I want to give you both the benefit of the doubt, but are you freaking serious? Really?

Adam Baldwin interesting way to communicate. Do I care if you are insulting? You are a stranger in the world, you can’t insult me. But back to your question, someone said the recording was high quality. I said so is the CD. As in the CD made in 1995 is outstanding production quality.
