They DID do a good job with the tundra.....if you totally ignore the absolutely horrifying engine problems. Hard for my brain to decouple the "cool cars" from the "overpriced as hell" part. I'd just be laughing at the prices the entire time or worse just be upset at the disconnect between car companies and their customers. (sorry for rant)

tundra engine problem has been fixed and only affected a around 25k and all of those got a free brand new engine

@@householdhacks have 3 buddies who have had difficulty in getting them to honor that without revisiting the service department multiple times (highest was 5) just seems unnecessary. Irregardless, if you are gonna ask me to pay 70k for a truck I am going to think twice before just assuming toyota is "without fault" anymore.
@carlashton93312 күн бұрын
I’d pay these prices if they lasted like that gentleman’s car at the beginning. I have little faith in new cars regardless of the manufacturer.
@richki.242 күн бұрын
they entice you by posting somewhat reasonable MSRP and when you get to the dealership you get sticker shocked with upper trim levels and very high actual prices ...
@cplhicks21792 күн бұрын
Some of these vehicles look really nice but the prices now a day is out of control.... I hope they realize that and start slashing prices to get them sold. With the possible Tariffs coming it could get even worse.

Hyundai peaked in the early 2000s. I've had 3 of the XG350 cars. Every one has lasted to 200K miles or over. The newer models suck.

V8 Forever baby! Defund the EPA and their ridiculous standards that forced cars to get so expensive
@alabamaal225Күн бұрын
Here's the big problem: When you add together designing, testing, retooling factories, and the myriad of other functions required for a new/redesigned model, it doesn't cost much more to manufacture a large vehicle than a smaller economy vehicle. The difference in cost of the actual steel and other materials involved is almost inconsequential. BUT the auto manufacturers can sell the larger/more luxury models for a much greater margin. A dealer would probably have to sell at least three of the Ford Focus models to make the same profit as one Ford F-150.

When I worked for my last airline, they had a contest for YEARS where, if you went 12 months without calling in sick? You were entered to win a Bronco. This was late 1990s. The CEO would buy the car AND pay income taxes....well, not him personally.
@neiljuedes1661Күн бұрын
Unfortunately the engines they are putting in these vehicles are made to last through the warranty and then start to give the buyer problems. Just about every vehicle that Consumer Reports tested the biggest complaint was the engines were under powered,noise and had major vibrations when excellerating !

$32k bronco, great but it sure as shit won't be that in a dealership with markups and addons.
@jamesalias595Күн бұрын
My concern in the new vehicle is the engines. You need an affordable car, suv or truck with an engine that will last. They don't make engines that last any more. Turbo charged 4 cylinders are no good for heavy SUV's and Trucks.

Hey, car shows are great. Once my dad realized I was a car guy, he stopped trying to get me to run around on grass playing with "balls". We would hit the custom show in the spring then the international show in the fall. Thrilling good times. New=throw away, doesn't matter which place makes it. The parts used to make them don't last. Thanks, diggin your show. ANB

He put 675K miles on his Toyota. Bet it was a naturally aspirated V8, and not a turbo 4cyl. If they did away with the entertainment center on the dash, that should cut costs. Just looking inside the car it looks way too distracting.

When you see a price labeled as "starting at" you can be sure it is a configuration that they only created to justify that price, but you will never see it put on the configurator or come out of the factory for retail sale. It's the model they made up that doesn't have a motor or interior, but can be ordered to put on top of one of those big poles to advertise a dealership.

I can confirm you can pick up a Outer Banks Ford Bronco Sport for the $32K MSRP (well under actually). Last week in October, my ex bought one for $31,200 out the door (6% sales tax). Next closest dealer was $33,000 out the door.
