Went to my local CarMax here in Houston and asked for prices on Lexus NX350. Prices were almost similar to a brand new one. I just turned around and went next door and bought me a new instead. Peace in mind is priceless.

People go to Carmax because they hate the normal dealership experience. They hate it so much they are willing to pay for more for a used vehicle than a new one. I don't understand, but I don't mind the dealership experience. There are studies that show many consumers would rather have a root canal then go to a car dealership.

I get tired of going to a dealership and having them do the 4 square garbage. I always get my own loan from a credit union ready to go and I know what the price of the car should be. Just sell me the car at the price I get when I build it online. They make it too hard to try and rook you into something.

I said that means nothing to the sales lady, she said it does because that's what you will be paying. I said no it won't. I already know what my financing was, just get me to the OTD number. Which we finally got to the number after about 30 minutes.

Went to one Carmax and it was a super easy experience but didn't have the car I wanted. Went to a different Carmax in a very rich area and it was like the FBI was shining the light on my face in a dark room. Before a test drive I had to prove I had full coverage insurance which I did with my Insurance card and then they wanted me to log into my insurance to show/prove what coverage I had. It was insane. I spent over 30 mins just proving insurance to do a test drive. I told them this is the first time I ever had to prove insurance and what coverage I had for a simple test drive and she looked shocked at me and I looked even more shocked back at her considering how many dealers I been too that never did this. It was for a Honda not some high-end specialty car. It was a weird experience needless to say it turned me away and I went elsewhere with a more respectful service and bought a car.

re: the F-150 Lightning PRO... it has only 6000 miles on the clock because it spent _so much_ time at the charging station and the previous owner got fed-up with the hassle of dealing with all the shortcomings of electric vehicles. Yes, he/she was that _desperate_ to get out of that deal.

Yep. I run dealerships and own a used car lot. The process is ridiculous on both sides. Customers expect to play a game and you have to sing and dance or you cant earn their business. The franchise model needs to go away and the big car companies need to go to Tesla Route.

What do you think about the resignation of Carlos Tavares from Stellantis? He was the VP at Nissan when Carlos Ghosn, now a fugitive from Japanese authorities, was leading the company. While I doubt Carlos Tavares will need to hide in Lebanon like Carlos Ghosn, it seems people named Carlos can be trouble for auto companies.

BRANDON: Can you please..... When a car is sold new and it drives off the lot, what % in general has it gone down in value? I get different states may affect this, sedan to SUV may affect this, but in general or on average or commonly.... when a new vehicle is sold, what % of value has it lost just driving it off the lot? 2nd, in years 2 and 3, what % of devaluation is occurring as long as the vehicle is no accidents, scheduled maintenance is being done, basically the vehicle is perfect except for normal driving wear, and is up to date with all servicings...... What is common depreciation after 1 day, after 1 year, after 2 years and after 3 years.... so the vehicle is still under warranty. In general. THANK YOU.

I had a guy tell me he picks up vehicles from local dealers for CarMax and they therefore are doing great...I told him acquiring vehicles does not mean they can sell them because they are not selling enough each day/week or month to meet their financial obligations just like most all dealers. If you saw the action in the US Treasuries today you would know TOTAL ECONOMIC COLLAPSE can happen literally at any second right now! This "house of cards" economy is finished
