Can't wait. Still functioning with my 2015 27" which I refuse to replace with a 24" (why go smaller in 2024 when PCs are up to 34" monitors????). Having been spoiled with an all in one, don't want two separate units either which are expensive! I'll be first in line when it finally releases. Not a fan of malware. Used it for a while but it slowed my system down much further.

You infer that a $3,200 price tag is pricey. I bought my first Mac (an SE-30) back in 1990 and spent $8,000 on it which included 24-pin printer, the max available hard drive of that era, and the maximum available RAM. And that was in 1990s dollars. $3k to $4k seems a pittance in comparison to what you get for the money today in computing power.

Me too, too! I bought 2 for about $2,500 each in used-but-mint condition. I really thought there was no reason to NOT include a computer in the MacStudio display. I love my old intel 27" iMac Pros and only hope that the 32" models have no chin.

I would definitely love a larger iMac. I have the M1 iMac and love it but with it was a little bigger and had more ports. But what would make the whole experience better is a better Mouse. The trackpad is great but sometimes I want to use the mouse and it’s absolutely terrible.

Thanks for this update, Matt. If the release is in October 2025, I would so much prefer for it to have an M5 chip which will have a new architecture. But this is definitely the device that I'm targeting to upgrade to. My last Intel-iMac was purchased in 2019 and it keeps crashing all the time.

It would be good to see an updated model, but I hope they have a height adjustable screen. With the 27" on a normal desk the screen is too high to get the the correct viewing angle for a lot of people. Also hope it has enough ports and upgradeable memory, as I have had to upgrade my 27" memory two times for photo editing software requirements.

32 6k or 8k would be amazing but concerned about price since monitor is permanently attached to cpu and most people change computers more often than monitors... If they can produce it with the ability to use it in monitor mode only (as an external monitor on another device) then perhaps it will be a winner.

I think that the use cases of an all-in-one iMac that aren't covered e.g. by a future M4 Mac Mini or M4 Mac Studio + external display are vanishingly few and far between. The HDMI 2.1 interface found today e.g. on the M2 Mac Studio and the M3 Pro or M3 Max Macbook Pro can drive a 4K external monitor at 120Hz, so I'm not really sure a 120Hz ProMotion display would be a significant advantage for a hypothetical large-screen iMac.

I was a die-hard Android fan for all my life but am now switching over to iPhone for the first time in September with the iPhone 16 release. The well integrated ecosystem won me over eventually... New iMac 30 should have HDMI ports 2.1 out and in. Also a SD card slot on the side of display. It would also be nice to have thunderbolt/usb c on side of display.

Mac Studio was never a direct replacenent for a 27in iMac. You could get a fairly decent 27inch Intel iMac for around £1800. Basic Mac Studio + Apple 27inch monitor is £3500. Let's have a bigger screen iMac but it doesn't need to be labelled 'Pro'. Have a Pro one as well, yes indeed, but let's also hope there's a real equlvalent to the Intel non Pro 27inch iMac.

I have a late 2013 27 inch iMac. I haven't spent one second wishing, let alone thinking about, how thick it is. It sits on my desk, I look at the front of it, & could be several inches thick for all I care. I don't understand Apple's obsession with thin for a desk top computer.

I've been holding on to my 2017 iMac Pro until Apple finally decided to come out with a new Model, I wasn't impressed with the latest iMacs they produced because of the screen size, not to mention, I already had the MacBook Pro 16 inch M1 which could do the same thing as the newer iMacs.

I had high hopes for Siri, Garage Band never got creative enough. Tim Cook has completely abandoned Steve Job's it s all in the apps motto. IBM screwed up Boca Raton I can only hope someone save Apple now.
