In this tutorial I am demonstrating a straight pour. The paints I am using are Arteza Glacier Blue and Blue Turquoise; Liquitex Basics Mars Black. and DecoArt Satin Enamel in Black. Paints mixed 1paint:2Floetrol, which is then thinned with a mixture of 90%water/10%Floetrol to proper consistency. Consistency: 1-2

A very cool painting, Gina! And I do see that whale and the ripples it made! I like your color palette as well and am wondering if the blue will show more in the white once dried? I wonder if you used Carbon Black instead of Mars Black you could get more black cells; because Carbon Black is less dense than Mars Black. (Specific Gravity is 1.8 for the Carbon Black pigment, and SG is 4.6 for Mars Black, all that iron oxide.) For comparison, the SG for Titanium White is 4.1, and most paints that have Mica in them are somewhere around 2.8-3.0.

I love this painting. I was going to do it with yellows and oranges. But after checking out those colours I have which are liquitex, it says they are both transparent. What would you suggest I use instead of liquitex? Are there any opaque yellow or orange? Or should I use a gold with yellow in it and copper mixed with orange?

It is very dramatic! Perhaps use less metallic colors and more of the black to achieve the black cells effect that you're after, idk, this looks very pretty as is!
